Yes, I follow a low Glycemic and low carb diet and have successfully lost 96lbs and kept the weight off. I stopped eating wheat pasta and wheat bread a long time ago and find I no longer get cravings. It was actually very easy.
Dont miss pasta at all!
I also limit my red meat to 2X per month and I no longer have inflammation or any aches or pains. In fact, I have been chastized by some who disagree with me, but everyone is different and this is what has worked for me.
