I find I tend to eat like that late at night, too. One way I found to stop it is to have an evening snack about 8, then go to bed by 10, which I should do anyway!

yes, I'm 50 yrs old and I started curves circuit and I'm trying to diet. Junk food is my down fault. And yes I do weigh my self every day or every 2nd day. It's unbelievable how one day you loose a pound then gain a pound. Right now I'm stay at one weight which is better than gaining. It's all about what you and how much. I'm learning that I do great until evening after 9 and ten I get hungry and eat what ever I can find. I like eat fibre one bars and cereal bars, but after that i want more. I can get enough of that sweet stuff. I did lose 8 pounds so feel great about that. Keep up the great work spark people.

I just found out about SparkPeople yesterday from a co-worker and I think I'm going to like it!! I'm 50 and I think with SparkPeople I'll be more focused and it helps that I'm finally at a point where I'm ready to lose weight, that I'm at a point in my life where I can focus on me!. So good luck to all of us Getting Fit Over 50's!! ;)

One of my issues is that I'm learning starting to know what I should and shouldn't eat by how I/my stomach feels. That should be good, right? It would be if I would just listen to what my body's telling me, and not say one more bite won't hurt or not doing wall pushups today is okay. I frustrate myself so much and so often. Sheesh.
The one thing that does help is to weigh myself nearly everyday. I know that's not advised, and I realize there will be ups and downs, and that if I'm doing things right the average weight will continue down. Having a number in front of me in the morning does prompt me to think about how I felt and what I ate the night before.

It is a slow and steady process, with good days and bad! The important thing is to own up to those bad days, and keep going!!! I" broke up" with my scale, and am only going to weigh myself twice a month. The scale should not be your only guide. Make a program you can stick with, including exercise. It will happen just takes a little more time and effort as we get older!!!
Attitude is everything so pick a good one!!

I am 54...I just started this SparkPeople Program it working for me because I see lot's person's in the same position as me me to lot of weight I am hope I will loss it all this time I am sick of been sick if I would at less of the weight at I need I will be able to do more think....with GOD help I am going to loss all my weight this time.
Don't quit. That is all that matters. I've been here nearly five years and haven't gotten to my goal yet, but I've never been over the 214# I was when I started and that for me is a victory. Stay with it as most people give up and quit and go back to old eating habits. I'm determined to be slim again and have a waistline.

It's totally mind over matter! I think I've finally shrunk the size of my stomach and what it takes to make me feel full. 15 pounds down and only 60 to go!
