Anarie,

Thank you for explaining exactly whats in those pills. I knew they probably had lots of caffeine, but the other stuff makes sense too.

To the original poster. Please stop taking them. We are all just concerned about your health and well being. When I was in my twenties (over twenty years ago) I had a bad habit of taking diet pills. Everything that has been posted here happened to me. It is just not safe. Good luck.

What you've actually been taking is a blend of aspirin, several different laxatives, and a HUGE dose of caffeine. Each day, you've gotten the equivalent of 4-6 cups of coffee in straight added caffeine, plus an additional amount from several of the herbal ingredients. It's impossible to know exactly how much you've taken in total, but assume that it's at least 5-7 cups of coffee. You are almost certainly going to get a caffeine withdrawal headache when you stop taking the pills, but you would also probably get some even more serious side effects if you kept taking them. Be prepared; drink some strong tea or coffee throughout the day after your last dose, and slowly decrease how much you drink. By the way, the reason the aspirin is hidden in there (they call it willow bark extract so you won't realize it's aspirin) is to try to keep you from getting a headache from all that caffeine and reporting it to your doctor.

You're also almost certain to gain weight the very next day. That's because you haven't really lost any fat. You probably had to use the bathroom a bit more than normal while you were taking these, right? If not for the pills, you would use the bathroom a lot LESS than normal when you're eating so much less food. But these pills are full of diuretics and laxatives. You've been losing water instead of fat, and as soon as you drink a glass of water, you'll rehydrate and your weight will go up.

The good news is that you probably didn't really hurt yourself in just 14 days. The weight you "lost" will mostly come back, but you probably won't gain any more. Go back to a normal, healthy diet and exercise, wean yourself off the caffeine, and you'll be okay.

If millions of people who have significant amounts of pounds to lose can do it in a healthy way by proper nutrition and exercise, you can, too! If you STARTED at 132 you can't have all that much to lose, in comparison with many sparkers, and to do it in a healthy way will create positive habits you can adhere to for life:) Your body will love you instead of seemingly conspiring against you...you cannot thwart your metabolism forever, such efforts become highly conterproductive to your health, making it even more difficult to lose the weight you WILL put back on. It's a vicious cycle to get caught in.

To say anything further about the dangers of the way you've been losing would be redundant...the only thing further I will add is that if you stop the pills suddenly you may get headaches or other symptoms of withdrawl.

You lost weight because you STARVED yourself!

You have more than likely lost muscle as your body used muscle to fuel its self.

Nobody should eat less than 1200 a day.

your heart is a muscle.... ponder that before taking another dangerous pill.

You should eat at least 1200 calories a day. Restricting yourself to less can seriously damage your metabolism. And what are the side effects of this pill? They may not be known at the time, but there are always side effects. Please be careful with your health. We are only given one body in this life.

I agree with the previous posters that you're likely to gain the weight right back as soon as you stop taking them. The way you're trying to lose weight really isn't good for your health.

I'd skip the diet pills and just stick with a healthy diet and regular exercise. That's the best way to lose weight and keep it off long-term.

You will gain back all the weight you've lost plus a few more pounds probably, and your metabolism will be screwed up.

That is not nearly enough calories. Especially if you are working out. In order for a pill to remove bad things from your body it must also deplete good things. Just like chemotherapy kills good cells just like it kills bad cells.

Not eating enough calories now is going to have a really bad affect when you stop taking the pills.

Firstly, it is easy to stay motivated for 2 weeks and even more so if you are finding yourself losing weight quickly. What happens when you loose a little motivation next month and miss working out 3 days. You will have slowed your metabolism down so much by using the pills that your weight loss will double within a week. Believe me I have been there and tried it.

Messing with the design of the body is NEVER a good idea. Sparkpeople is here so we can learn to do this the right way and keep the weight off.

Please reconsider the use of the pills.

Please please stop taking the pills and start eating enough. You need at least 1200 calories to even get enough of the vitamins and nutrients your body needs to function. Don't be surprised if you gain back the weight when you stop. Then start eating a healthy diet.

You are doing your body more harm than good. You're under-eating AND taking harmful diet pills. Your metabolism is probably non-existant at this point, meaning as soon as you stop taking the pills, you will start to see the weight creep back on. When you don't give your body enough fuel (Calories) and nutrients, it goes into "starvation mode"; your metabolism slows down in order to hold onto as much food as possible, so once you start eating normal, you will hold onto those Calories longer and take longer to burn/digest them.

I highly recommend stopping these pills and eating a healthy diet full of nutritious, balanced meals and snacks. That is the true way to lose weight for life, not just go on some fad diet or use diet pills. You may get instant gratification from starving yourself and taking pills, but it will not last a lifetime, I guarantee it.

Im taking the 14 day burn and cleanse pills and Ive been losing an average of half a pound a day. Some days I don't lose any weight. I only have 2 days left and it seems like here toward the end the weight is coming off even faster. I started at 132 when I started the pills, now I am at 125, a weight I haven't seen for atleast 3 years and I am very happy but I am wondering if when I am off these pills will a negative effect happen?
Also, I have been on a diet of an average around 950 calories a day and 20 grams fat.
