So up for the team weight loss idea!
I've got a fair amount of time until I officially say "I DO" but I want to be almost at my goal loss (8kgs) by the time I go dress shopping! So bring it on!

I am in. but I am kind of new to this site and still trying to figure out how it all works. But count me in, I have quit a bit before my wedding date (over a year) but I want to get in shape before my wedding and keep it that way.

I am all in for a team motivational effort.

Our wedding is on December 11th,
My fiancée and I started working out together, but he is more lazy then I am, so in these final stages before our wedding, I am working out alone,
And am finally seeing some result

Hi everyone :)

Our wedding is 18 September 2013!! I am getting very excited now - but still have so much to do! At least I am starting to lose some weight! - I want to get back where I used to be weight wise...and then some ;)

I already have my dress - although it still has to be altered - so very motivated!

xXx

My wedding is August 23, 2014 and I'm trying to lose 50 pounds by then. My fiancé wants to lose roughly the same amount.

Hi everyone! I'm getting married August 30, 2013 and am SO excited. However, all of this wedding planning and dealing with things with my mom about the wedding, my fiance, etc. has caused me to really struggle with emotional/bored eating. I've tried to keep it under control but every day is another battle and I end up over eating. Do you have any tips on how I can avoid this? I'm still exercising but I know for me, my eating habits is 80% of how I feel and it's really distracting me from enjoying my engagement. Thanks, and congrats to everyone who will be married soon! :)

I'm in here, My wedding is June 14, 2014.
The big trick is this is a first wedding for both my groom and I and we will both be 50 when we get married.
The weight just fell off when I was starting, now it's taking work and I'm not good at that. I'm down 36 pounds, but still have over 50 to go. and with 450+ days, i hope i can make it....

My "new week" starts every Saturday. I started the 30 Day Shred 8 days ago and I do that along side TaeBo. I also have a weight loss buddy and we walk in the evenings (when we can). I eat between 1300-1500 and I am losing at a steady pace. This week was tough because I could not resist 2 cake offers and sweets have been my biggest issue.

On the exercise front, I wake up early and get my exercise out of the way and anything in the evening is a bonus. My fridge is stocked with veggies and fruits and my bottle of water is always by my side.

If I can get this nutrition thing right, I know I will see greater results. Here is to a healthy weekend for everyone.

@Pookie, great job on getting back to -150lbs!!

Hi @Venart, Great job on your progress. We started at the same weight and we have the same end goal. SP says I should aim for 155 to lose healthily by June. I hope to continue working towards 145 after the wedding. All the best!!

I've been really unwell this week, vomiting bug going round where I work and I got it.

I did however hit a milestone (well repeat milestone) with losing a pound last week... meaning I am back at 150lbs lost.

Not done much exercise this week since I've been so unwell :(

I'm getting married May 11, 2013. I'm finally making some progress on my weightloss but I will not be anywhere near my goal. Some days this gets me really depressed because I realize that when I look back at my wedding pics I will be close to my heaviest weight, but I realize that it doesn't matter.
I'm working on getting healthier and losing weight. My fiance loves me now for who I am and how I am. My wedding day will be the happiest day of my life and my weight can not change that.
Anyway, I've lost 6lbs in two weeks so that is pretty good. :)

How has everyone been doing? There's not been much movement on this thread in a while, so just wondering how we're all getting on?

I've still be stuck at around my current weight. It's not really wanting to come off, but I'm still sticking it out. I've been quite militant with my weight watchers points this week and tried to get a variety of exercise in. I hope you're all doing well and seeing more progress than I am!

Chaos, I completely hear you about trying to support each other but being stuck in your own heads. We're just like that, except I've always though that I had more to lose than Ant, but lately he's started to feel really down because he's stayed the same while I've slimmed down somewhat. He's not really willing to track food, though, so aside from me cooking healthy meals there's not much I can do to help him.

Hi Everybody! :)

Now I really need tea and water and other techniques.... I mentioned that I have a sweet tooth. Today was the international women's day, and in Hungary men usually buy chocolate and flowers to their woman acquaintances. I teach in a school and I got thousands of chocolate :) and flowers of course. I'm really happy that my students love me, but now... the temptation...

Happy Women's Day to You All! I send you a virtual chocolate! emoticon emoticon

I hope you are all right, and never give up! :) :) I also try not to give up.

Welcome to everyone! I've added a few of you as my sparkbuddies, feel free to add me too: we're all going at this together!

I love the idea of using hot tea or water to slow the cravings. I grab coffee at work when I get really stressed out--it's so hot, I have to slow down to drink it and that momentary pause can keep me from grabbing junk to munch on.

We're going this weekend for engagement photos...both of us are wishing we had dropped a little more weight and looked better. But this is what we are right now, and it's what we're going to have photos of. I know I've made some huge changes in the last few years, so I should feel good, but wish I had dropped more. My fiance is quite a bit heavier, and really feeling bad about himself. We're trying to support each other, but we both seem to be in our own heads and just not making the progress we'd like to be.

I'm also getting married on the 22nd! Fortunately my SO does not need to lose weight, so this is really just a me thing. I know I didn't start because of the wedding; it was much more about the right timing and having some medical issues under control.

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind if I join in :) I'm getting married on 22 June, here in England (I know most people on SP are in the states, aren't they?)

I joined weight watchers 7 weeks ago and I've not lost any weight the last couple weeks and I'm looking to step things up to get it going again. I really just want to lose 10lbs by the wedding, though I need to lose 15-20 overall. I'm doing well with the eating bit, but I just find it SO difficult to motivate myself to exercise. I hope you can help push me to do more. As I'm typing this I'm very aware that I'm sitting on the couch.. so, I'm going to go do a bodybalance DVD right now!! Talk to you again soon!

Thanks for the ideas, Nike and Taylor! Drinking tea or water seems to help me... :) :)

Last week I realized that my biggest problem is besides the cellulite is my posture. I carry myself very badly, and it's more ugly than my extra kilos... So I must pay attention to it. As I started exercising two months ago (more or less regularly), it started getting better, so I have to work on it! :)

Keep going! emoticon

I'm the MOB in a June wedding and ordered my custom gown (it will be here late April) too small...and I must lose 4 inches in my waist to fit into it! I know, brazen and stupid. I have lost 1/2 inch in the waist in February. I am determined to do better for March. I really am trying very hard! Not over 1200 calories, and a minimum of 40 minutes cardio daily.

I agree with Taylor. I cannot give you much advice as I do not have kids nor do I see them in my near future but count the blessings you have now. Look for the good in everyday, rely on your fiance and really try to focus on the wedding coming up. Enjoy being married and when the time is right, you will know what you want to do and how to do it when it comes to kids. I see adoption as a great thing and your helping someone who cannot help themselves.
Take some time for yourself. Do what you need to do , what feels right and then look into a routine and stick to it. Gives you something to look forward to.

Were always here for you!

Sorry to hear about your trouble! My fiancee came from a similar situation - his parents had difficulty getting pregnant (with him!) the first time - it took years! But it all worked out for them in the end, and I'm sure it will work out for you, as well!

To motivate you, just think of all the blessings you already have. You have a great love to rely on in your future spouse. Think of where you want to be, and why. And mostly, be kind to yourself. Remind yourself of whatever motivates you - create a mantra. Best of luck!

Hey all,
I have been feeling very unmotivated lately. I just found out that I can't have kids without the help of fertility drugs or/and invitro. Anyways, been very depressed and eating everything I can get of hold of.. I need to get back on track, I know it's not the end of the world and if we can't have kids the "normal way" there are 100 other options like adoption. We have no problems with that but although in my head I know all this, my heart is kind of broken. But I still want to look fabulous for my wedding and in a couple of months I am going wedding shopping so I want to loose some weight before I go. Need all the help I can get.

What helps me Ann is to get a bottle of water and sip on it. I count to 50 in my head and after ten, I take a drink of water. After the 50, I never want to eat. If that does not work and I still want something, I go walk around the house or the block or office to office if Im working and once Ive done that, If I still want it, I have a small portion and tell myself I tried and a small endulgence is okay. It is about making yourself aware of what you are doing and what you are eating... Not making rash decisions and thinking about it.

Good luck

What helps me when I start to eat a little out of control is a hot cup of tea. I find that most of the time, when I'm eating junk, I'm really just stressing out or eating emotionally. So really making myself sit back and drink the tea, really savoring, is a good help. If you like, you can also sweeten it to make it more of a treat. I don't like artificial sweeteners, so I use a bit of honey. Good luck!

Now I need advice... I was really good at my nutrition earlier (I mean more than a week ago), but I was made extremely upset (by my mother-in-law-to-be), and I started to eat everything: especially chocolate, and now I don't feel myself being able to stop.... Is there any technique? Idea?
Thanks in advance!

Looking forward to cheering everyone on and hopefully complaining to everyone as well. Because face it...if we don't moan and groan about how sore we are, and tired and yada yada then we probably wont get very far!!!

My goal is to be as absolutely confident as possible when we leave for the honeymoon. I want a bikini ready body for that for sure!

Hi, I would like to join too :) My wedding is going to be in July... And now I feel totally under-motivated... if there is a word like this.. I would like to be the prettiest in my life on my wedding day, but if I feel stressed I always eat, and my mother-in-law-to-be doesn't help me at all... She makes me mad... So I need to get some motivation somewhere to compensate...

I am getting married in September and all the pressure to lose the weight initially was making me really stressed out and overwhelmed that I just gave up. But, now I am working out 30 mins a day instead of 60 mins a day (5-6 days a week) and taking things day by day. Hopefully this will keep me on track and I will get results by not setting the bar so high. I hope to fit in the dress and feel good about myself on the big day!! If anyone would like to message me so we could help eachother stay motivated/accountable, it would be great! All the support helps :-)
