I remember when my son was younger and he just never asked for anything ! Other kids were asking for X boxes and fancy sneakers and he would always say : I don't care about that stuff " Later on , when he grew up he said he felt guilty letting me know he wanted anything like that because I never spent money on myself ,so maybe looking back I should have done something just for me once in a while lol. I am thinking about the manicure , so where do us ladies go after we get a manicure ! We cant just stay at home looking at our fabulous nails ! lol. I must confess I am a food rewarder , I know my Weight Watchers leader said the same thing dont reward yourself with food but ... I find it helps me eat less and exercise more thinking about the cheese cake I can have later hahaha . Actually I have lost 40 pounds so far and I had promised myself at 30 pounds I would go to the new bakery in town to try out something but still haven't gone yet , maybe thats a good sign ! I have a terrible sweet tooth and for me realizing that treats are a once in a while thing on special occasions instead of something to be enjoyed everyday has been a huge lesson for me ! :)

KYLIECAT1 its funny but I also have never had a manicure or pedicure. That might be a good reward for me idk. I am seperated from my husband so I understand about not being frivolous and my son is 12 and I only work part time so the budget is very tight.lol

I want to join this challenge too!!! I would love to lose 20 pounds by summer, maybe more as I have a lot to lose. Mondays are perfect for the weigh-ins! As a matter of fact, I weighed this Monday at 244, so that is my SW.

Will check in again soon.

KYLIECAT1 don't feel bad, I've never had a pedicure either. As a single mom myself, I spend all my extra money on my 5yr old princess so I know exactly what you mean.
I think a pedicure might be a great reward for meeting a short term goal. I'm also thinking about buying a Groupon for a massage (I've never had one of those either emoticon and not using it until I hit a milestone.

NEABIGSIS I love the idea of a dress or outfit hanging there that I can see everyday, I might even get myself a sexy bathing suit to go with our losing for summer theme!!

I think no matter what we come up with though there are so many supportive people in our little group here that we are all going to succeed far beyond our expectations!!!

A reward system sounds great ! The local beauty shop here is having a sale on tanning sessions , I never tried it before and might just take them up on their sale but not use the tickets until I lose to half my goal ! Also I hate to admit it but I have never had a manicure or pedicure ! This comes from being a divorced mom on my own , we tend to think of those things as frivolous but now son is 20 and makes more money then I do lol and hes very supportive so I just my try it . For me a reward that is also out of my comfort zone is what I need to feel ... yes this is a brand new me !

NIC_CAV I love the idea of a reward system. I think that would really give us something to work toward.
In the past one thing I did was go out and buy me a very sexy dress that was to tight. I knew if I lost about 10-15 pounds I would be able to wear it. I made my goal and I looked HOTTTT in that dress. emoticon Im not sure of the kind of rewards I want this time but emoticon for mentioning it.

Good morning ladies!!! Day 3 is under way...
I am doing well on staying away from soda (my biggest vice) and getting my exercise in everyday, even if it's just walking a mile. Trying to stay away from the scale until Monday.
I'm working on putting a "reward system" in place for myself to help keep me motivated.

Anyone have a reward system that they are currently using that works for them?

My weight goes up and down , Got on the scale today and didn't gain but because of the pizza fiasco the other night , Im going to try to nip it in the bud ! Its okay to have a slip up now and then we just have to get back on track , I have a lot more weight to lose so Im not going to waste time beating myself up , My plan for today ... Drink lots of water . Eat lots of fruit and veggies and because I only have to work a half a day , exercise 2 hours :) There's a blog that I like called Lazy Girls Fitness , This girl shows how to incorperate exercise in to just about anything , even waiting for the mircowave ! lol I am really scared because I do go to Weight Watchers meetings but they might close for lack of members ! emoticon Can I do this myself I dont know , I needed that accountability ! Thats why I need each and every one of you guys so much !

2nd day of this challenge, and I already went way over my calories for the day. I'm trying to console myself by thinking, at least I kept it under 2000, and at least I did a bunch of exercise to offset it. I KNOW you can't out-exercise a poor diet, but darn it -- there are some days where I'm just munchier than others!

Back at it tomorrow. I'm going to aim for the low end of my range.

That was a tough one to work around! Snowbound - and a pizza shows up!! Throw some kids in the mix and you are at the moment of truth!! Ahhhhhhkkk!

I need a contingency plan on what to do to prevent a situation such as that one -
and the three I mentioned below...lol and all the other temptations and habits I fall prey too.
emoticon

Like a sweet tooth alternative...that's it!! I'm making a list!

So far - I am alcohol free - loading up on veggies - exercised both Monday and Tuesday...

My challenges this week.
1.) junk food in the break room at work - and the candy dish.
2.) Wednesday night dinner with the girls - (worried about what they say when I order water instead of wine)
3.) The weekend. I must plan to have a perfectly healthy weekend.

Let's kick it!
