Wow! Makes sense, though. One of my reasons for losing is that I don't want to find myself in the same position as my mother in 30 years - double knee replacement.

I saw this guy on Oprah once who had lost hundreds of pounds (over 300, I can't quite remember). He was using 2 canes to get around and was waiting on his knee surgeries so that he could really start living life again.

Wow, after goal that will be 800 pounds of pressure off of my knees.

Umm, so that means the 7 pounds that have snuck up on me over the past couple of weeks are really 28 in my knees' opinion? Wow! That's certainly even more incentive to drop those 7 ASAP and chase a few more after them! :)

Thanks for the info!

Cheers,
Maya

My doctor keeps telling me that in order to help me not feel discouraged because I have so much weight to lose. Every pound of weight lost will benefit me and my knees.

I have never had knee problems, but my foot is killing me, even after losing 25 pounds. Is there anything about how weight affects the feet?

Great help when you feel you are getting depressed from only losing 1 pound. Shows the big difference little changes make!

I heard that recently, too. It's a good visual to have! There are days my knees are sore but I think I need new shoes emoticon

Isn't leverage incredible! That's almost shocking that a pound is quadrupled on our knees. No wonder so many have bad knees.

PLAVALETTE Posts: 125

Did you know that for every pound you loose you take 4 pounds of weight off your knees. Well I have lost 14 pounds and that equals 56 pounds off my knees!! No wonder my knees have not been hurting as much. WOW!! emoticon
