First off warmest welcome to Spark People. It's going to be a hard journey but if you stay committed even when you fall off get right back on. Log everything as if you were writing a book about yourself. Food prep is a big key. Search this site for recipes and plan meals for the week...Tupperware or brown bagging works. It's about 80-90% what you intake and the rest is activity. Try something new whether it be food or activity. In order for your body to change you have to change your mind. I can go on & on about what helped me loose 56lbs, you have to play around w/ what works for your body. Listen if you need an accountability partner let me know. I'm new here and ready for change. Looking forward to getting to know you guys and find some good motivators/friends to interact with about these lifestyle changes.
I have had past success doing a "Sugarbusters" type eating style. It seems to be, after a lifetime of being overweight, that I can stick to this plan.
I absolutely DESPISE cardio. I work hard and sweat all day, that's not the issue. I know that I need to buck up and DO IT. I have an exercise bike in my extra room, I have 725 acres of hiking trails, I have a pool available within walking distance, a bicycle, I just can't seem to motivate myself to get out there and do it. Something needs to change for me to lose this weight though.
I love strength training, lifting, body building, yoga. All of those things you don't have to move quickly for!
