you are in the right place. There are many ladies on this sight who started or are still in a wheel chair and are doing great things. I belong to team ~indygirl She has lost 250 and started in a wheel chair .. in the pull down tab of the community go to SparkTeams and do a search you will find others like you to offer support, encouragement and a kick you know where when you need it.
Set some small goals like drinking more water or less soda. Eat one more serving of veggies.. You don't have to do it all today or learn it all today.but sticking with it is what makes you successful.

I wish you all the best and lots of health! I know how difficult it is to eat healthy and exercise when you are alone at home but I hope you will like this site so much that you will be captured by it and its people and you will be able to keep your goal clear in mind. Hey everyone! My name is Wendy and I am new to Sparks. So far I LOVE it here. So much to do and I am having fun exploring the site. I am 54 years old, disabled and pretty much wheelchair bound. I can walk about 100 feet with a walker. I was hit by a car while crossing the street about 7 years ago and my leg was crushed. I developed crippling arthritis in the other knee from bearing all the weight. Since the accident I have gained 150 pounds and I was overweight to begin with. I have about 240 pounds to lose. My first goal is to get to 275 pounds as I can then have bilateral knee replacements and should be able to walk following the surgeries. It is a good goal. I started eating healthier about two months ago and lost 29 pounds before joining SparkPeople about a week and a half ago. I lost 4 more pounds my first week on here. I am now down 33 pounds and 5 inches off my waist. Good start and I do not want to quit. I am an insulin dependent diabetic and am having a crazy time with my blood sugars. That is another goal--to be insulin free and hopefully healed from the diabetes by the time I reach my goal weight. I am having trouble with exercise. Even mild exertion gives me sever shortness of breath. I am hoping to be able to increase my activity as I drop weight. I live alone and really have to fight to get myself to prepare good healthy meals for myself. I had gotten into the habit of fixing convenience foods and calling out for pizza and the like. I am trying to like myself enough to take care of myself. For the past two months I have done much better. I am reading the articles and watching the videos and plan to join up with SparkCoach in May. I would do it in April but I really need to get new glasses. I am looking forward to conversing with fellow members!
