Thank you! That is my goal this week...to log everything (good or bad) and to explore the site. in the past my problem has been accountability, especially to myself, so I think tracking will be a great new approach. Congrats on the 56 lbs! And thanks for the support, I may need it along the way.
First off warmest welcome to Spark People. It's going to be a hard journey but if you stay committed even when you fall off get right back on. Log log log, log everything as if you were writing a book about yourself. Food prep is a big key. Troll this site for recipes and plan meals for the week...Tupperware or brown bagging works. It's about 80-90% what you intake and the rest is activity. Try something new whether it be food or activity. In order for your body to change you have to change your mind. I can go on & on about what helped me loose 56lbs, you have to play around w/ what works for your body. Listen if you need an accountability partner let me know. I just had a baby and have been doing a lot of thinking. I have decided I want my daughter to grow up without having to worry about diet. I want her to learn how to make healthy choices because they make her feel good and not because she has to and to live an active lifestyle. The only way she is going to learn that is if I teach her that through my own healthy choices and active lifestyle. I grew up with a mom who was extreme about diet and exercise. She would always tell me that I don't want to be fat and never allow me to eat any sweets unless I exercised for them. Although I cant blame my mom for where I am at now, it definitely shaped how I feel about food. I have 107 pounds that I want to lose. I am making a promise to myself to track everyday, even if I totally mess up. I am trying to involve myself in the sparks community to give and receive support and read other members stories for inspiration. I know I can do this. My mantra through this is that to lead by example for my baby girl. I want this to be for both me and her. I want a happy healthy life together.
