It's always real tricky to figure out what the right balance of strength training, cardio, and food will give us optimal results and not push us into starvation mode on the one side or into fuel storage mode on the other. I'm starting to think that I'll never nail the perfect balance for me.
wow- only 5 pounds! they say that the less you have to lose- the harder it comes off. but- i dunno- this 30 is getting to be a real bore! i'm doing a low carb thing myself- i lost 6 pounds this past week. now if i can just keep going... i exercise too- about 1-2 hours a day as well. i find that if i cut back my workouts a little- i actually lose a bit more. something about the way my body is and it's foolish little notion that it's starving. good luck on that! rachel
I'm looking to lose about 40 pounds myself. I'm lucky if I can get 2 hours of exercise every 4 days. I wish I had your energy. What kinds of exercises do you do each day? And what exactly are you looking for in a buddy? It sounds like you already have quite a lot of motivation to keep you exercising that often. Are you looking for someone who knows a lot about nutrition, or eating habits (you mentioned your sweet tooth), or general healthy living, or something else? What exactly do you want a buddy to do to help you? Are you looking for a taskmaster, a supportive helper, a coach. or some other personality type? Would you prefer a buddy of similar age and gender? Let us know. If I fit what you are looking for in a buddy, count me in. If not, I'll try to help you find someone who is a better match.

I'm looking for a buddy to help support eachother on our weight loss/fitness journey. I only want to lose about 5 pounds...so I'm sure it would probably not be tempting to be my buddy if you have a large amount to lose...but I have been struggling more with my eating habits than the number on the scale. I exercise about 2 or more hours a day, and therefore, keep a decent weight, but I want to regain my life back by improving my eating habits ( I guess cutting down on the sweets/treats etc...) and actually getting to a point where I can cut back on the exercise. Anyone who can help me reach this goal will be a friend for life. I am a 36 year old female.
