I think the single push up is a wonderful endeavor I haven't accomplished yet either! I might have to borrow that from you as one of my shorter goals, lol. I also have weight markers I'd like to reach. My plan is just to eat well and exercise, to be honest. I'm considering doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred not so much for weight loss but to gain some muscle tone, because that's typically what many people get from it.
As far as a long term goal, I'd very much like to do capoeira. I'm not much of a runner, like many here, and I don't know that I'd ever really enjoy it (maybe, I might try it out)-- but capoeira is something I DEFINITELY have wanted to try for a long time. Alas, it takes a LOT of strength and a lighter weight than I'm at, so it'll be awhile.
Good luck with your goals!! You can do it. :)

Hey all! I thought I'd put this question out there to see what motivates everyone! So....what are your long and short term goals? Is there something you are aiming for? Do you have a specific plan to get there?
Personally, I am aiming for two things:
1. I want to be able to do a single push up. I realize that this is a ridiculously low goal, but in my entire life, I have never been able to do a push up. I have been doing a lot of strength training and working on my upper body to aim to do this push up. I am doing partial push ups every day, and making an attempt at the total one. But I am yet to succeed....
2. I want to jog/run a 5k. This is a bigger and more long term goal. I am around 180 lbs right now, and I am doing the couch to 5k program. I have been going for a few weeks and am finding it really enjoyable so far. I'm hoping that I will be able to complete a race by October 2013, which I don't think is an unreasonable goal.
So there, that's me for now! Please feel free to share your goals :)
