Good job...that was, indeed a situation where you might have ended up saying, "the devil made me do it!" LOL. But I really like your "hunger check" thing!!! Wow! Since I do realize that most of my "wrong" eating has been from "head" hunger and not "real" hunger, I think I might actually stop myself sometimes and do a true "hunger check" -- way to go, and thanks for the idea!

Ok so today I ate lunch so I was not hungry and I was good and relaxed so I felt good about going into the store to pick up the gluten free bread that I cannot get during my regular shopping. I am in the store and have bread in hand and I pass a display of snacks. HOLY MOLY!! I am rooted to the spot and I think I may be drooling. I am consumed by the thought of eating something...ANYTHING!!! I circled the display looking for a gluten free option, checking calories. Debating, justifying in an absolute panic trying to find a reason why it would be ok to indulge. I literally panted through the worst of it.... a good 5 minutes before I got myself to the cash and paid for my bread. I DID IT!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOO. I left without a snack and felt completely normal again within 10mins.
This is the first time since I can remember where I caught the craving before it won and was able to work my way through it. I did a hunger check and realized I wasn't hungry. I though about having to track it before eating it and realized it wasn't worth it and I thought of my goals. The next time will be easier to spot and deal with. What a fabulous day :)
