WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Welcome to Sparkpeople.com I sincerely hope you find your Sparkpeople experience to be as wonderful as I do. Yes, I have juiced. I do more smoothies now because my juicer is one of the old fashion ones that wastes alot. With the smoothies I just throw it in the bullet and go. I would juice more if I had a better quality juicer so good for you, keep up the good work.
Welcome to being a divorced/single mom sounds like you are heading in the right direction. I would join teams for support if you need it. My spark friends have helped me more than I could ever say.
You will find this will be way more than a weight loss journey. This will be your path to a healthier and happier you! Here are My tips to YOU: I suggest you log in everyday. Acquaint yourself with the tools because they are key in helping you form healthy eating and activity habits. I love the articles and they have helped me more than I could ever say.
Have a blast making your page as it is your fingerprint. Change it up & make it your own. Most of us use it as a form of expression and a major source of motivation for ourselves and others.
Definitely use the Nutrition tracker because it is demonstrative in forming healthy eating habits. Be sure to run a report it will give you valuable information to make choices in the future. Don't cheat yourself out of this vital information and the behavior modifying effect it will have on your eating. THE NUTRITION TRACKER REPORT IS VERY POWERFUL STUFF DON'T UNDERESTIMATE IT! Should you ever need support or have any questions, speak up we have more than our share of people who can help you.
Personally, SparkPeoople.com has had a very powerful influence on my eating habits. The improvement is profound primarily because of the articles and nutrition tracker. I really enjoy my Spark friends and teams also.

Every single day, I talk to people who want to loose weight but refuse to eat vegetables and fruits. Some don't like the veggie flavor while others think fruits will make them gain weight. Other hope for a fast track miracle diet that will never happen. Whether you eat meat or prefer a vegetarian diet, a balanced diet is the only real thing. Juicing has been a life changing experience for me and many others to jump start on health, weight loss and weight management. We've all heard ineresting stories of weight loss and great health transformations. My motivation began with Joe Cross and the juice fast. After watching the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, the magic was disclosed, there was an opportunity to learn how to like fruit and vegetables. Then one more summer, and for one more time I said: "Next summer I will be healthy and in shape". Have you ever made that statement over and over? Summer was important because my birthday was coming up in August and I was soon going to become a divorced/single mom living the terrible 40's! Being a Certified Life Coach, committed to be self-motivated at all times, hope was not over. On a tuesday afternoon I asked my teenage son to watch the movie with me, crossing my fingers for him to understand that there is juice after the rainbow and that the daily pizza is not good. My son worried about any incoming facebook chats still said yes; we sat back, relaxed and enjoyed Joe Cross on his swimming shorts and the crazy idea of green juicing on the road.
Instantly, my only son knew I was up for a significant change in our life's. On that same summer, with the back to school struggle striking again for me, vacations were about to start. I learned about a Summer camp for juicing vegetables and fruits. It was called Camp Reboot and Joe Cross the cute Australian guy was the facilitator...I had to be there. That's how it all started but for my surprise, it was so much more than just a Green juice...
