Being a caregiver for your grandmother is not an easy thing. I'm sure there are days when you feel totally overwhelmed. But that doesn't mean you have to give up on life. Since you are stressed out, you need to find ways to reduce that stress. When the weather improves, would your mother come over to take care of your grandmother while you have a day out ?
When is the last time you had a weekend to yourself ? If your mother can take over for a weekend, that really could help perk up your spirits. And you don't have to go far. You could take a weekend at a local bed and breakfast. If getting away for a weekend is too much money, how about spending a day at a spa ? Get a 60 minute massage. Get a facial or a manicure. How about a new hair do ? Do something to pamper yourself for one day. If you can't do it once a week, then every couple of weeks.
It's important to have a little "me" time. Otherwise, it really does seem like the walls are closing in all around you. Does your grandmother have a wheel chair ? When the weather is nice, maybe you could take a walk around a park with her. Being cooped up in the house doesn't help either. So, hopefully, the weather will cooperate and you'll be able to get out.
Mostly, don't be afraid to ask for some time for yourself. If you're going to continue to take care of your grandmother, you need to take care of yourself. Stress can destroy a person's immune system. It breaks down our bodies. That's why you have to do what you can to take care of yourself.
While I've been unhappy, had problems, etc., etc., etc., like everyone, guess I've never hated life.
Life is good and I celebrate it.
Being alive beats the alternative.
It's just really very basic for me.
I do not hate life.
I love life.
Moving in new directions.

Look into community help programs. Google one in your area. You need help and soon. It's hard to ask for help, but there are people out there who can help you with your grandmother. You don't need to face this alone and it is more dangerous if you do, for everyone involved.

I'm new here so hope you don't mind if I chime in. Without knowing where you live, is it possible to check into some type of senior services or elder care to see about some type of in home visits once or twice a week? I am a supporter of the life alert type things, as both my elderly aunt & uncle wear them, even though they are in a senior living complex. They do work,as we have found out. Do you belong to a church? If so, can you ask around about having someone come sit with her for an hour during a time you have off, so you can have a break for yourself? Maybe during that time, go for a short walk or just get out a bit. We all need stress relievers and time to ourselves. Hope things start looking up for you!

Change the attitude. Focusing on everything that is wrong in your world just drains all the happiness out of you. If you shift your attention to things that you enjoy and the good things in your life, not only will your paradigm shift but you will attract more of those things into your life. A person chooses to be a black hole of negativity, or a bright star, and people tend to gravitate towards those they identify with. Do you want to surround yourself with haters or people who know how to be happy? Life is what you make of it and how you choose to see it. Life doesn't always work out the way we would like, but you can still find peace of mind and plenty of things to be grateful for. It's your choice

Thanks, you are somebody I need to talk with. I carry a lot of I'm sure unnecessary stress. The 1st thing is my weight of 240lbs. 2nd is the amount of money I make and 3rd is my home life. Call me a bad person but I live with my soon to be 92 yr old grandmother that has progressing dementia. Its hard to live with an aging loved one that used to take care you me. I've lived with her for 15 yrs now and have seen the aging process full force. I have lost my compassion but yet can't bare the fact of moving out and leaving her alone full time. I do have some help from my brother not much from my mom who only lives 3 blocks away. When I came home yesterday she was on the floor for who knows how long and my mother is retired, she didn't come here to check on her because she couldn't get out of her driveway because of the snow but she has shoveled herself out of it before. I just don't know how much more stress I can take without really loosing it and can't afford to live on my own. What do I do to start making me a happy person. Signed a very unhappy female.

There are times when I hate life and times when I love it. But the alternative to life is death and I hate that more.

Just my opinion, but I think instead you should be looking to chat with someone who used to "Hate life" but now doesn't. Maybe these people can help you find the path you are really seeking. I never hated life, but I hated me and am much better now. If you'd like to chat with me, I'd be happy to.
