I really admire people who take picture when they are starting all this...I didn't have the nerve or the courage. I couldn't stand to have a camera around me until I had lost about 20lbs. Now I wish I had done some stark, honest 'before' pics.

Go YOU! I really wish I had taken some "before" pictures. At the time, the last thing I wanted to ever do, was have my picture taken. sigh. I DID save the last pair of "fat" pants. The ones that were so tight, that I couldn't wait to get home and take them off, because I couldn't sit down without feeling like they were going to cut me in half. All the rest of the "fat" clothes went out the door as soon as they got too big for me.
I think it is an excellent idea to take those photos. They can serve as an inspiration for you, and also help you see how far you've come. Sometimes it can be hard to feel like we're making progress-- but like they say, a picture is worth 1000 words.

when you get to your goal weight you will be amazed at looking at those photos of how far you have come. Good luck. Go ahead and check out my page as I have a before photo of me. I look at that and I am amazed of how far I have come. You can do this......

Here's me from January 12 at 181. My target is 145 on 6/1/13.
Congrats to you for starting and kudos for posting the pic! I just started too last week and I'm not comfortable enough to post any pics just yet. Besides, I'm pregnant right now and not actually trying to lose weight until post-baby. I joined to get in the habit of walking and eating better so I'll have a jumpstart after she gets here! :) Congrats again!!!

I don't upload to photo bucket, but I do have a pick on my sparkpage. I just started on January 7th. Good luck to you. I keep looking at all the success stories and that inspires me, as well as all the clothes that don't fit anymore. I just can't justify spending more money on bigger clothes.

Many of us have "before" pictures on our sparkpages. I didn't think to take real ones or do measurements when I started out, but this picture was when I was around 200lbs... I was 188 when I consciously started trying to lose weight. http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/6/2/l6 26060226.jpg
Okay so posting this makes me cringe SO bad. I started my NEW lifestyle last week (making eating HEALTHY and exercising a priority). I have 40lbs to get to a healthy weight for my body - I KNOW I can do this with the right attitude and support. This is me today....anyone else dare to take pictures and post? For me SEEING is believing, so it helps me taking pictures when I don't feel I'm getting results. Plus seeing me helps with appetite control LOL :)
