INDY - I pass on lemon in my water at restaurants as I do not know which cutting board they used. Yes, I am a bit of a germ freak.
Does anyone know if lemon water affects electrolytes.

Love lemon in water but at home, out I ask for whole lemon as we do not know who touches and how long on sitting

MVKNET - Okay, is the lemon water detox something other than just drinking lemon water? As in, do you eat significantly less food/is it similar to that hot sauce lemon water thing that I remember being big a while ago when it was rumored Beyonce used it.
I'm just curious because those seem like very extreme symptoms to me for just adding some lemon water to a normal diet. Then again, I've always enjoyed fresh lemon in my water at every weight and health level I've been at (including a time when I'm sure I had plenty of toxins since I lived on regular Pepsi and fast food), so maybe my body is just used to it.

I love lemon water -- for the taste. My kidneys and liver take care of detoxing. :)
Lots of opinions here. I tried the lemon water detox and my body went into crisis. The toxins released too quickly and I was crippled with pain for a couple of days. Every joint was inflamed. My doc said that there were so many toxins and that the lemon water caused them to release too quickly. But that doesn't mean it won't work. Just be aware of your own body and if you feel a lot of pain then back off. I do drink lemon water but just a squeeze of lemon and a big glass of water. It is very refreshing. So now I do slow detox under my doc's instruction and I feel wonderful

Drink lemon water because it is tasty, there is no magic. Your body naturally "detoxifies" itself.

I put lemon juice in my flavored water because I read it boost metabolism, but I don't put much faith in detox diets.
I drink lemon water because I like the taste, that's about it.
I have a large pitcher of water, slice lemon, and enjoy, I didn't know that there was any more to it ;)

It isn't going to 'detoxify' your body - that is what your organs are for! The only benefit is that it is part of your hydration regime, and there is Vitamin C and some other nutrients in it.

Not as a diet thing, but I like lime in my water simply for the taste

It's junk. You can't flush your body of anything; it's not a toilet. Your body doesn't work that way. Lemon water tastes good, and like any water, hydrates you. That's all it does. It can't detoxify you. That's what you have kidneys and a liver for.

Do you guys do this kind of diet? I have read on some blogs that it will help you to detoxify your body. I just started doing it last week and I feel so positive everyday. :)
