I had my surgery in June 2008. I am at max on the fills, and am now pretty much back on my own. I never reached my weight-loss goal. I have now started to regain some of the weight I lost. I ultimately want to lose 70 lbs, and even more importantly, want to get in control and stop the slow gaining. I am hoping that having a food diary will help me. I am now disabled, and cannot exercise, so my weight loss success or failure is going to be totally dependent on my dieting self-control. If anyone has any tips or encouragement, bring 'em on!

First, you said the bad word...DIET! I try to never think of eating as a diet, I know for me, I'll never get anywhere. It will always seem a struggle and a disappointment. Tell yourself, this is a LIFESTYLE CHANGE to better myself! I've recently had LapBand surgery too, and while I'm on the high of shedding pounds, I still struggle with putting the bad things in mouth. Then I realize, it's all in my head. This site and so many others have such great recipes and information on how to still eat the foods you enjoy but with making simple changes that will make them more healthy for you. And, I use the tracking tool like crazy! It's make me accountable for what I'm eating and helps me when I go to make that bad decision. I can see what I've already eaten for the day and when I put that piece of candy in my tracker and see what it does to my calories, fat and carbs I think twice and usually it gets put back. Although, I'm all for indulging sometimes! Good luck on your journey!

I had lap band surgery in August of 2009 and did great. Went from 276 to 170 and felt awesome. Unfortunately, the beast I thought I'd conquered has now conquered me and I'm back to 252 lbs. I want to get back on track, but I can't seem to get my head into the game. For awhile -- a week or two -- I would really like to have a diet plan to follow. I want to take my choices away and basically have someone dictate to me what I should eat for each meal. Can someone direct me to a site or share with me a meal plan that they have? This would help me immensely. I *think* that after a couple of weeks of being successful and seeing some initial weight loss, I might be able to continue on without a set plan. Does anyone have anything to share?
