I understanding the term lacto vegetarian. I am still confused by what a lacto vegan eats or doesn't eat? A vegan eats nothing that comes from an animal. You may need to clarify more.
Anyway...have you selected your meal plans here at SP based on your food preferences. You can select vegetarian, no meat options, no eggs, etc. This will give you ideas on how to balance and meet nutritional needs. Let me know if you need the steps to do this.
I also encourage you to get some good cookbooks from your local library, these will have menu planning guidelines and recipes to meet your needs.
You may also want to check out our sparkrecipe center---we have many vegetarian/vegan options.
And join a vegetarian or vegan Sparkteam for more ideas.
I am a vegan and found the vegan food pyramid very helpful when I made the switch a couple months ago. You can good vegan food pyramid or there is one on PETAs website and I believe on chooseveg.coms

A lacto vegetarian (sometimes referred to as a lactarian; from the Latin lactis, milk) diet is a vegetarian diet that includes dairy products such as milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, cream, and kefir, but excludes eggs. Lacto-vegetarians also abstain from cheeses that include animal rennet and yogurts that contain gelatin.
I've never heard of a lacto-vegan. I thought the defining feature of a vegan was that you don't eat animal products (like dairy), in addition to meat. How is it different from a lacto-vegetarian? What animal products do you eat, and not eat? Enlighten me! I'm curious. :)

I am Shana and a lacto vegan. I would love to know how to make my weight loss fun by simply being able to balance my vegan diet..what would a vegan balanced diet really be?Could anybody help on this issue?
