Does your family keep a lot of junk in the house ? If so, you could ask them to put it some place out of the way so that you aren't encouraged to eat any. Of course, you could also ask them to buy more fresh fruit. Keep a big bowl of fruit nearby and whenever you feel an urge to snack, grab a piece of fruit. I hate to say this, but I have yet to meet a person who wanted to binge on apples.
If you are hungry, it is okay to snack. just do your best to make healthier choices. you don't have to give up fast food if you really enjoy it, BUT you do have to be mindful of the portions. You know you can go to McDonalds or wherever any time you want. So, make a trip a treat, not a daily requirement.
Also, could it be that you're bored at home ? If so, time to get out of the house. Take a walk. go to the library. go shopping. there are plenty of different things you could do to keep from thinking about food.
