I prefer the lara bars because they have no wheat products and because they have no dairy. I am lactose intolerant so the chocolate and yogurt on the luna bars is a bozo no-no for my tummy. I'm like a previous poster, I can eat 1/2 of one and feel satisfied for hours.

I love Luna over Lara... but they are both good!

Luna - I love the white chocolate macadamia, chocolate peppermint stick, and smores.

Lara - I like the cherry pie, and the JamFrakas - Banana Chocolate Blastocrisp.

I can't find lara bars anywhere in my area and can't be bothered with anything I have to mail order so it's luna for me

I like them both, but for different reasons.

Luna bars are good when you want something chocolate or sweet but need protein. I tend to eat them for a snack before going to the gym, or when I need a heavy snack to get me through a long afternoon. My favorite is Chocolate Peppermint Stick.

Lara bars are good when you want something sweet to boost your energy and blood sugar, or just want a healthy, filling sweet treat. They're chewy, which is comforting. I prefer the Key Lime flavor, or the Coconut Cream Pie or Lemon flavors.

I would prefer a Luna bar to a Lara bar. I just recently tried the apple pie Lara bar and it tasted nothing like apple pie. It kinda made me gag a little.

i saw the lara bars, and wanted to try the peanut butter jelly one, but it seemed kind of high in calories to me??

What flavor would you recommend?

Update: LARA bar in cashew cookie flavor is gross. Even my son wouldn't eat it.

I like the Larabars. Because they are so sweet, I can eat just half of one and feel like I had a whole dessert.

I usually get them at Whole Foods or Trader Joes, but found them at Wal-Mart in Atlanta recently!

Sorry I accidentally posted too many times.

Yes, they are very filling and don't taste so fake and artificial like all the other bars out there.

I checked the other flavors. Dates are a medium high glycemic food so I think that is how the bars get the high sugar content. They are all at 18g of sugar so I'll stick to apple pie or any another flavor, just not cherry pie, though I do love cherries. I'll share with my son since he seems to like them.

the sugar in larabars comes from the dates and whatever other fruit is in there. so saying there's no sugar in them is misleading.

personally, i like larabars because they are raw and i only need a half a bar in order to feel satisfied. they really fill you up quickly!

I just bought some Larabar flavors from Trader Joe's. I tried the apple pie flavor and it's good. You will enjoy it as long as you like dates. Even my son ate some.

The cherry pie flavor is supposed to be the best according to online reviews, but it has 23 grams of sugar so not sure I want to consume that much sugar from one bar.

That's the first time I ever heard of LARA bars. They look really good from their website. Where do you buy them at? I've never seen them in the store or maybe just never noticed.

BTW I enjoy Luna Lemon Zest and Dulce De Leche bars. The Abs diet recommends Luna bars as a good snack. But I cannot compare Luna vs Lara as never having had both yet.

I love Lara bars because they are the only bar out there that doesn't add any sugar in any form. No honey, sugar, molasses, etc. Plus they come in tons of lovable and tasty flavors.

I have tried both LARA and LUNA bars. I really like them both. LARA is very basic with only a few ingredients. LUNA has a ton more ingredients, but still claims to be all natural. Does anyone have an opinion about which bar is better for you nutritionally speaking? I find them sometimes a good snack when I am on the run (like I had one while skiing this weekend) or a good easy way to increase my calcium or other specific nutrients when I am going to fall short that day.
