I was looking at dermarolling done for medical studies, and they did get results, but I agree, there is a lot of misinformation out there and people are using really large needles when the medical studies that I saw said that the main results happened with small ones.

It is a subject that if you want to do it, you need to learn about it first, because the larger needles and unsterilized needles do cause problems. The smallest ones don't even cause bleeding and the studies I read said there is still improvement with them.

I know there is no guarantee, but to say there is no hope at all, when there are before and after photos with loose skin that did tighten up makes it worth exploring in my mind - but with proper instruction and proper safety techniques or in the hands of a professional.

There is no compelling evidence that "derma rollers" can really do anything to improve your skin. It certainly won't remove the fat under the skin. And quite a bit that they can be dangerous. Anything that deliberately punctures the skin should probably be done by a professional, if at all.

You have to remember that the odds are those "before and after" photos probably would have looked the same even if they hadn't shelled out for the product. Some people are gifted in this area, and they're certainly not going to show you the photos of the failures, now are they?

You have to realize that 99.9% of what you see promoting this is coming from people SELLING it. If it sounds too good to be true? It probably is.

I was looking at before and after pics with dermarolling and there were a few who had tightened tummy skin up.

I just bought a few rollers to use while I lose. I have lost a little weight, but my skin isn't slack yet and I am curious if using the dermaroller the whole time will have better results than the photos I saw where the skin was loose before they tried it.

I loved what the derma rollers did with stretch marks and scars and pock marks and that it tightened skin, so I want to use it even if it doesn't take care of the whole issue.

You can try collagen induction therapy. This is where thousands of tiny holes are made in the skin. These holes are not deep at all....barely pierce the skin. BUT, it is enough to trigger the body into the healing process which requires collagen production. This results in tighter skin in rough areas and the skin grows back with greater elasticity than what is presently there.

I know the issue you speak of. I have had 4 kids and my belly has never been the same! lol But I am getting ready to do CIT myself. I got a DermaRoller and will be tackling it myself-CAREFULLY. If you have no idea on how to create a sterile field in order to minimize the risk of infection, have a professional do it.

Do a little research on it....there is hope for us with the slackened skin yet!

There is no exercise that will tighten skin, nor cause you to lose fat. If you are one of those "blessed" with excess skin, only time, hydration, and/or surgery will remove the excess skin.

what kind of exercise would help tighten the skin if any ? this is my biggest issue i think that where alot of my weight is

Coach Jen is right. A good healthy diet and low carbs, plus all over conditioning and aerobics.

Hi Sara

Actually, crunches won't help you lose your belly. Is it excess fat in that area, or actually just loose skin? If it's skin, there's not much you can do about that. Sometimes as time goes on, the skin will shrink back a little. If it's excess fat, you'll lose that through a healthy diet and regular exercise. There's no way to target fat loss to a specific area of the body, but eventually, it should come off in areas where you carry excess.

my question in im 23 and i have 2 boys that were both over 8 pounds and now i have some lose skin on my belly and im not sure how to fix it other then crunches is there anything else that might help ?
