I used to run 5 miles a day for a few months and out of the blue, my knees started to swell and ache. I went to the orthopedic specialists and he told me to stop running or I will have to have surgery on my knees. I started walking on sand or mulch trails and found I can walk for 5 - 8 miles without pain. Just take it slow and move forward one step at a time.

I have had many knee injuries in the past, in biking, weight lifting and running. What personally do you do to avoid knee injuries?
