I've had bad knees since childhood; one replaced 6 years ago & never got full mobility back (my doctor said 'Hmmm; maybe I shouldn't have cut that tendon..." emoticon ). Trying to keep the other knee healthy. I do water aerobics - it's a great workout & easy on the joints. I do strength training for upper body & core (can't do lunges or kneeling stuff) & that works great too. If I can't get to the pool I do dancing for cardio but it's pretty low-inpact; still gets my heart rate up.

Yes, I use the bike in the gym. I don't own a bike but will have to invest in one for nice days. We have a trail near our home that I can ride.

Do you have a bike? Bike riding is a great workout, especially if you do intervals.

Hello Jen,

Thanks for the links and suggestions. I can't swim but will try water aerobics, I will also check out the links and let you know how they are working.

Will hit the gym after work for strength training and yes I did walk on my treadmill this morning for 35 minutes.

Would the stationary bike or swimming be options for you? What about lower-impact fitness classes or DVDs?

This year made 3 years. I have a 25 pounds for lifting and no jogging. I have great mobility according to the doctor. Just getting a little bored.

Has your doctor put any restrictions on what kind of exercise you can do? How long ago was your surgery?

What other exercises can I do beside treadmill, elliptical and some weight training? I have had both knees replaced.
