Not usually... if I also happen to be tired, then of course, but it wouldn't help me to lie in bed when i'm not tired...

I am a night owl too. I don't go to bed until sometimes one a.m. Spread your calories out.

I have tried but it doesn't usually work. I have insomnia so if I try that I usually end up laying awake thinking about food.

I have gone to bed to avoid eating. I also find I dont eat after brushing teeth. OR sometimes i will drink something instead.
But usually if I am hungry I eat.

I go to bed early at least what some consider so) anyway.
It doesn't consciously have a non-eating reason

I do this on days when I am bored and am going into the bored eating mindset. Usually this is only a problem if I'm bored or we ate early.

I love everyone's posts who said that they brush their teeth! That has been a trick of mine because for whatever reason after I brush, I won't eat again at night. In answer to the question - yes - I do go to bed to avoid eating! Sometimes it is best to be far away from the temptation.

I ALWAYS have a snack before bed because otherwise severe hunger pangs WILL wake in the middle of the night, so as to your question - no!

No but maybe I should! I saw some things on other posts to drink water or herbal tea and now the one below me that mentioned eating popcorn to help and these are ideas I think I will try. Thanksgiving has thrown off my eating and cravings so I'm trying to get back to where I was.

I am a night owl. I can't go to bed before midnight or I will wake up an hour or two later and then I can't sleep. I always eat late, I don't have a cut off time for eating. I just always make sure I still have calories left for late night (healthy) snacks! I eat popcorn a lot or fruit. If you can't stop yourself from eating late, just stretch out your calories so you can have something later!

I have. Sometimes when I'm just ravenous, I know I've had enough to eat but just want more. Meaning, I'm not hungry. What helps is to just shut it down for the night.

yes I have - sometimes my husband has a snack late and it is hard to smell the food so I brush my teeth and go to bed a bit early if I have to in order to avoid eating too late in the evening - I typically eat around 6:30/7 so if I don't have dessert before 8:30 I won't eat anything else for the rest of the night - also I find water or tea helps me not eat before bed!

I don't go to bed hungry, and I don't eat when I'm not hungry any more, so the issue doesn't arise for me.
