Hi y'all! My name is Evan, I am 28 years old and am currently living overseas in South Korea with my wife. I've always been a big person and it's time I get fit. For many years, I have ate unhealthy, ate junk food, fast food, didn't drink water, hated fruits and vegetables.
Since I left America in 2010, my diet and lifestyle has drastically changed. I started drinking water, eating fruits and vegetables. Recently, I decided to cut out red meat, pork, and diary. That was a huge change and I felt better for it. I started on a vegan diet that lasted a month and I was doing so good on it. Then, I walked 9 miles (18km), because I couldn't find a taxi and the route I was walking had no bus stops, and blistered my feet real bad and I started giving myself excuses to NOT eat properly and to NOT exercise. I want to get back to what I was doing and limit myself of my food choices, ever since I changed my diet, I now pick healthier foods but some days I just want a hamburger and derail myself lol.
I've tried weight loss pills when I was a teen, different kinds of diets along with exercise but to no avail... As far as I know, I have no real reason to be big other than not being responsible for myself and what I eat and how much exercise I get. I do have asthma, allergies, high cholesterol and bad genetics. I know if I do not lose weight now, my life will be limited as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, depression and a few other diseases run in my family. I want to be proactive and I want to live as long as I can-Lord willing.
Personally, I find it hard to stay motivated and keep on keeping on when I feel that it is futile to exercise and change my diet. Some days, I just do not want to get out of bed. I do not take medication except an inhaler and advair for my asthma.
I am new to the site and group and I find myself lost at times on what to do and where to go lol but I'll get there one day.
