National Men’s Health Week is celebrated each year the week leading up to and including Father’s Day, which is June 10-16, 2013. During this week, individuals, families, communities, and others work to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems, promote healthy living, and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. www.cdc.gov/men/nmhw/
My son who is 28 now had Testicular Cancer, so it is important in MEN'S HEALTH MONTH to talk to the men in your family about being aware of this illness that strikes mostly young men. He had it spread to his lymph nodes in his groin, so he had to have Surgery and four rounds of chemotherapy. He will be followed for ten years. In his 40s he may have cancer from all the Cat Scans and x-rays he has had, but that was a price he had to pay, but he will be aware of this health concern.
