As the others have said Jazzersize is a cardio workout which attempts to masquerade as a strength workout by adding barbie weights. You will need more than that to properly challenge your muscles and improve your muscularity and muscle function.

It is called WORK-ing out for a reason.

I said getting fit was simple, I did not say it was easy.

Cardio burns calories, strength work burns fat.

Jazzercise typically uses high reps and low weight for strength training, which isn't the most effective way to train. The best way to strength train is by doing exercises that fatigue your muscles in 1-3 sets, 8-12 repetitions per set. So you might want to consider adding your own full-body strength workouts to your weekly routine.

Hope that helps,

I love Jazzercise but it is a cardio workout. You do some ST moves at the end with light weights and lots of reps. That's not going to build muscle. But it's a lot of fun!

If you want an easy introduction to strength training, check out some of the Coach Nicole videos on youtube.

You don't have to eat the whole thing.

Does Jazzersize tone you? I have recently lost 25 pounds! And finally feeling like toning is needed but I know nothing about strength training. A friend suggested Jazersize. Does this really tone you?
