I usually find running hard when I do some leg exercises day before. Or if I do some sprints. Its like I run 6 mile on Friday. Later in the day I had interview and somehow I got lost. I think I added another mile to my run. I was running like a crazy women but I made it on time. I did it in 5 minutes. Next day I felt my legs. I could feel every step.

Congratulations on loosing 4 pounds. Great result. For me loosing weight is hard. For some reason my body just wouldn't let go. I also tend to gain muscles too. Which is really annoying as It goes on my legs.

I see some ab definition, but I really have to lose some abdominal fat before it really starts to show. I lost over 4 pounds this week so I'm getting closer.

Ran for 30 minutes- did speed intervals. Then I did JNL lean legs. The run was yucky today. I felt like I had cement shoes on. That's what I find so challenging about running- one day I feel like Paula Radcliff and the next I feel like I am running underwater.

Sounds like you are recovering- wishing you well! emoticon

Good Morning. Feeling better today. Calamine lotion is not helping but bath with baking soda and oatmeal, dead sea salt is great for itching.

Do you see any definition in your muscles? After doing Body Revolution my abs looked more defined.

Started week 4 yesterday. I am seeing some results which I'm sure will get more obvious as I lose a little pudge around the middle. My runs feel really good which may be from the intense cardio of JNL.
Ran today at lunch- did 30 minutes of hills then some push ups and crunches.
How are you holding up- not scratching I hope!

Yes, he's a big kid. Miss those days you are having with your son- I am really looking forward to the next stage of my life… as baba! Not too soon, but someday!
Rain sounds nice right now. Our expected high is -30C tomorrow- all workouts will be indoors for a while.
I squeezed in a 3 miler at lunch on the mill at the gym. Felt so good! then I did JNL ballistic backside after supper, so a really good day for me. Even stayed within calories.
Have a great weekend! emoticon

Your son definitely big boy now. My Daniel just turned 3, we have long way to go. Having a hubby joining you sounds amazing! Its always nice to exercise with someone else. I don't see mine joining me at all. His work is quite physical so i suppose he gets his share of training.

Went for a run this morning. I was going to do my JNL Fusion ( You Tube version) with weights today. Had to switch my workout as we have rain forecast for Saturday and Sunday

I remember those days Roxi! Things have changed in our house- my son turned 19 on new year's eve. He woke us up when he got home at 4 am!
I did JNL bicep builder tonight. My husband even joined me- way funner with someone else. The pushups are a little much for me- my shoulders are on fire emoticon It's done though, and as JNL would say, I made my deposit.
Happy new year!!

Hope you are doing better Ginandjj. I'm still a little tired but I figured it would be bad luck to start the first day of the year without a workout!
Did JNL Crazy Circuit Cardio. These are definitely getting easier. I am halfway through week 3. I should be farther along, but some days I run instead of doing a video.
Happy New Year! Wishing you a healthy year ahead.

Sat and sun I was at my dad's so I went to a nearby gym and ran and did strength training both days. Was supposed to do some JNL today but spent most of the day in bed with the stomach flu- looks like new years will be quiet.

Oh how I wish I had the full set. I would love to try the lower body and upper body, but I am satisfied for now. I'm still hanging in there. I did Speed and Ability this morning. I still am getting a good bit of soreness, but I am feeling like I can keep up better now. Stretch tomorrow and that will make 3 weeks in the books. Hoping when the holidays are completely over, I can check in more.

I am hoping to go for a run tomorrow too - as long its won't be raining. I am beginning to feel bored with my exercising routine. Did kettlebell workout together with kickbox fast fix - both J. Michaels dvd's. I haven't done those for a while and was feeling little bit tired in the end.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

It is good to change things up. I think it keeps the body fresh.
I got lazy last night and didn't do anything but watch a movie. So I doubled up this morning and did JNL speed and agility & total body transformer.
So tomorrow is Christmas. The cold weather has lifted. I would love to go for a run in the snow and count all of my blessings. I am on call however so I will see how it goes.
I hope you have a wonderful day with your family tomorrow!

I wouldn't call it willpower. For me its a case of doing something or not doing at all. Don't like running in the evening. Tried once and hated it. I am early bird so for me its not a problem to wake up early. Plus i have a running partner who wakes up early too. Works well for us.

"Hard Body" is one of new J. Michaels dvd workouts. Its amazing! I have quite few of her dvd's and i think its one of her best. It combines weight training plus some cardio. Gives great burn according to my HRM.

Had a rest day yesterday. I was suppose to go for a run but we had rain. I was very glad as i didn't feel like doing anything ( had a friend over on Friday and somehow we drunk 2 bottles of wine. I am quite surprised that i was able to manage so much as i can't drink a lot)

Roxi- it takes a lot of willpower to run at 5! I have tried and failed- I run poorly and am miserable. What is hard body? Is it tough?

I ran yesterday at lunch- 3 miles of hill repeats which felt great. Today I did JNL lean legs. Not as tough as lore body workout.

You are so correct about 5 am. This is the time i usually go for a run ( or 4.45, depending on my running partner). At the moment i am not working so i can do my dvd workouts around 8. But when i am working - it is 5 am. emoticon

This is only time i could do it. I was back from work around 7, by the time i cooked dinner....

Did fusion yesterday and Hard Body this morning. Trying to keep my workouts different.

210014631- JNL Fusion is a set of dvds that use the HIIT method of training. It involves 30 seconds of strength exercises followed by 30 seconds of cardio. I find them a real challenge- the bent over your knees, can't catch your breath before the next exercise kind of workout. They are 30-40 minutes long so they're great to do if you're busy. All you need is a couple of free weights. Let us know if you decide to give it a try. I believe there are some of the workouts posted on you tube.

Roxi- My favourite time to workout is in the late morning or early afternoon. Unfortunately my job only allows me to do this a couple of times a week. If I did it in the morning I'd have to be up at 5 which I just can't do- especially in the winter. If I'm lucky, I sometimes get an hour at lunch and will run or do weights then. Otherwise I'm stuck at night, after we eat, which makes a run almost impossible but I can seem to do a JNL then. Don't you find that a little break from the high mileage makes training for a half that much better when you get back to it? I'm with you right now- more weights and HIIT training and a couple of runs a week to maintain some running fitness.

Ginand- good to hear you're still going… remember, strong is the new skinny emoticon
Had to put that in somewhere. JNL's sayings make me laugh. Those darned house guests- getting in the way of a good workout! Hopefully we'll all get through the season with some time to exercise everyday.

I did TKO fat blast this morning (day off today…yay!). As I was breezing through the first three sets thinking "this is pretty easy", the next 2 nearly killed me. Good Lord how I hate burpees! I just think they are the hardest thing to do! Survived it, so on to the next emoticon

Good morning! I've been a little scatterbrained and haven't checked in for a few. I have house guests this week, but I have managed to get my workout in every morning. It was Speed and Agility this morning. I really liked that one. First time doing it. I was thinking next week after house guests leave, I will try to fit in a short HIIT workout in the evenings and hopefully speed up my results a bit. Hope everyone is doing well. I see some Cathe Friedrich was ordered. Awesome. She will challenge you for sure. I'm not ready for it yet, though. LOL. I probably could do some modification, but I have a lot of other stuff I could do in the meantime, so it can wait. Have a great day everyone!

Well done. Personally i prefer to do all my workouts early in the morning. By the time evening comes and i feed my guys i am exhausted. No way i would have energy for exercising. But we all different. What works for one might not work for someone else.

Run again this morning. After long break i decided to run only twice a week for a while and concentrate on weight training. When time comes close to half marathon will increase to 3 times.

Good job on the 6 miler! I am not getting enough running in- I miss it!
I typically do a training plan because my type A personality demands it! emoticon
I like to follow a plan and watch myself progress as I go. Your training sounds good- lots of miles!
The run through London sounds great. I lived in London the summer of '88- good lord that makes me sound old! Worked as a waitress for 3 months then travelled through France, Spain, and Portugal. I was skinny by the time I hit the beaches because I couldn't afford to eat in London. Even groceries were crazy. We lived on cottage cheese!
I think I paid about $120 for the JNL set about a year and a half ago.I missed last night's workout because my daughter demanded I put up the tree- only 8 days left so I couldn't make any more excuses. Hope to get one in tonight- I'm on call though so we'll see what happens.

Hi ya,

My run was great. Did 6 miles yesterday. Starting slowly after 2 months break. Your Vegas half marathon sods exciting. I will be definitely running Nike one next September. Hopefully i will be lucky with Royals park one this time. They do ballot and i didn't get in this year but i did it year before and it was amazing! It has great route - running through central London, passing Buckingham Palace.

Most likely i will do few. I just like adding medals to my collection. emoticon

Did JNL Fusion 3 times this week from You Tube. Think i might purchase the program. Just wandering how much did you pay for it. It will cost me £80.

I like your dedication to your training. Must admit i never followed any programs before any of my races. I only run 3 times a week : twice 7 miles and around 10-12 miles on Saturday.

Hope you had a good run Roxi. I go through phases with running. It is my most favourite activity but I find that as I am aging I need to mix in other things. I am planning my next half next november- a long way off but I can only manage the time to run one a year and this one would be with a friend on the strip in Vegas at night which sounds too good to pass up. I am going to continue with a lot of cross training the next few months then start a 12 week training program sometime in august. I see on your page that you have broke the 2 hour mark- Very jealous emoticon … this has been my goal for my last 2 halfs. I've been close- 2:03 is my fastest. I just want to run enough now to maintain enough running fitness so I can start a 12 week program and really aim for a sub 2 hour. Any halfs in your near future?

Are you still going with JNL Ginand? How are you finding it?

I did crazy circuit cardio today- one of the easier ones.

Going for a run as well tomorrow morning. I am quite surprised as I run only few times since my half marathon in September and I thought it will be hard to start again. So far so good. Did 6 miles on Tuesday and I was ok. I suppose Insanity kept me in shape. I never had such long break ever apart from when I was expecting. emoticon . Its nice to meet someone who likes doing same things.

I went on Cathe's web site also and there is a bonus package of 10 dvds for $120 with free shipping. Probably a lot different when going to the UK- you would be double the price when converting to dollars! I ordered them and will give them a try.
I did manage to do lower body last night after supper- I hate working out then but it was the only time I had. Not stiff or sore today- hoping to go for a run at lunch. Definitely on the mill as it's -38C with the wind today.

Oh, Cathe Friedrich is awesome. You can go to her web site and you will see her workouts. www. cathe dot com. She is tough, though, so that's why I am working my way up. She does a lot of strength training. She has a little of everything and she does do some interval training, HIIT, step, etc. Most of her stuff is advanced, though. If you are looking for a challenge, she's your girl. You can purchase single DVDs or systems. She has both. Check her out.

Ginand- have never heard of Cathe Friedrich. Does she also do the interval training style? Are they tough? Let me know how you're glutes made out!

Roxi- interesting about the weight gain. I have only found this to happen when I increase my mileage when training for a half because I get sooooooo hungry. Find I tone my whole body a lot more with the circuit or interval training workouts.

I am still trying to get going on my third workout. Work keeps getting in the way. I think I may revisit lean legs tonight. If I go too long between leg days then I just get too sore.

The reason i am skeptical about buying new program because i read its reviews and most of them are great. However some people mentioned weight gain and this is not something i want to go through again. I have huge collection of fitness DVDs - most of them Jillian Michaels, did her Body Revolution. My latest addition was Insanity which did nothing for me apart from gaining weight. I even stopped running so i could concentrate purely on following program 100% by exercising 6 days a week as well as changing my diet as prescribed. My fitness level increased slightly and instead loosing few pounds i gained. And i don't care if this is muscle gain because its still gain and my clothes feel little bit tight.

Hey. Yea. I did Lean Legs this morning. I'm a little bummed, though, because I am realizing I didn't get a "complete" set, probably because I ordered through HSN. It is an "abbreviated" version of the program, I guess. My behind and quads are definitely going to be screaming at me tomorrow, though. I am hoping to do 60 days of this rotation and then jump onto the Jillian Michael's Body Revolution train. LOL. I am trying to work my way up to some Cathe Friedrich. I'm so glad you responded. I need some support since I haven't worked out in over a year and it seems like nobody else is doing this program right now. LOL

Roxi- I think you will find you'll definitely get results on her program if you follow it with a clean diet. It is the hardest type of circuit/interval training I have ever done. My legs screamed for 2 days after the lower body video. I have been unable to workout the last 2 days but hope to get another one in tonight.

Ginand- have you done another video?

I just started this today, but today was Fusion Basics, so I didn't really do that much. I did a step workout to go along with it, so I could get a little more activity. I will probably have to modify it a good bit, since I am woefully out of shape. I had surgery last year and haven't gotten back into the swing of things yet.
