My success this week was making cookies and not even having one lick let alone a cookie! Oh, and exercising every day and watching the calories even though I've gone over a few a couple of days. I still think it's a success.

Calories: 1,553
Water: 8 cups
Exercise: 5 miles
Motivation: Feb. vacation
Delight: new RED CD player for my kitchen ... so cool they had a red one!

Welcome LEANNEROCKS!

My successes for the week (since 1/1 anyway):

1. took my vitamins daily
2. stuck to my exercise plan so far of 3 30-minute workouts and 3 other 10-minute workouts each week
3. Made healthy soup choices at lunch (out to eat) yesterday and today
4. Made dinner at home each night
5. Have stayed at or under goal for another week

I know it is late, but I'd like to join this challenge. I've been ill for more than 2 weeks, but at least reading the posts here will keep my mind in the right place.

3. Exercise - 54 mins (walking)
4. Motivation/Goals - I have two goals for January - 1) Track food & stay within range at least 5 out of 7 days 2) Keep up my exercise at least 3-4 out of 7 days
5. Delight - Friday!

Successes for the week -
Did well drinking my water.
The scale wasn't my friend this morning, it was slightly up, but I won't let that deter me!
Counting since Jan. 1st, I have exercised 4x in 4 days and stayed within my calorie range 3 out of 4 days (see #4 above)
Practiced moderation around big box of chocolates!

This is such a positive group and I hope to be very active. Thanks for the welcome back. Today and tomorrow are probably "place holders" for me since I am juggling a few family health challenges (two relatives are quite ill and my aunt who is living with us is seeing specialists today and tomorrow and preparing to make some tough treatment decisions) and I am not finding time to start my exercise till Saturday. But, I am concentrating on staying steady with my food choices. I know that I need to be healthy enough to work and care for others.

I am happy to see several names that I recognize and several new people. Congrats to everyone who has lost weight or recommitted to the program. There is so much inspiration here.

3. Exercise - not much....
4. Motivation/Goals -Fitting into my clothes- one size down

well hello there all of you and Happy New Year!
it's nice to be back, and see some of the familiar names....altho you may not recognize me!
I have made a new committment for this year, and made a new account name to go with it- committment2013.
I used to be "newstartnow50", as I made a new start in 2011, before I turned 50. I lost over 20 pounds, and kept it off for about a year, and left spark people....
I have gained almost all of it back- so I am back to get my spark back!

Calories: 1478 (under - thought I was feeling better this morning, but turns out I am still sick, and while I still have an appetite, my digestive system is hating anything I send down there)

Exercise: 35 min (full body ST + 1 m walk - cancelled going to the gym tonight because of sickness)
Motivation: to get below 160 this month
Delight: seeing my work friends today (was on vacation for almost 2 weeks)

I know that my fitness minutes are high for today. For those of you that don't know, some days (usually no more than once a week at most) I end up doing double workouts due to my kids sports/athletics schedules.

Looks like beneficial fun so here goes.

Daily calories -- 2883 Way daily goal of 1200 but put on a big brunch for my kids
Daily exercise -- Nothing trackable but after a full day of food prep and cooking and shopping I was sure tuckered.
Motivation -- always high
Goal -- add to this daily and report

Exercise: 8 min (cardio) -- I started feeling sick during the day so I didn't get to do any more than that =Motivation: to get below 160 this month
Delight: my partner taking care of me while I was feeling my worst

3. Minutes of exercise: 90+ 1 1/2 hours of raking and sweeping and 3 hours scrubbing stains out of a carpet.
4. Motivation: To reach my goal of 145 lbs before summer.
5. Delight: I found it easy to get back on track after stopping for most of December.

I can for sure use the motivation as well as to help motivate others. This is day 2 for me and I am really excited to get going. I can always use some accountability and I am hoping that I will get that here. I need laser focus to stick to what I am doing. I will do it for me! I have not put myself first when it comes to my health and I really must do this in order to be here for my husband and son. I have been lucky in life for as much as I have abused my body with food and lack of excersie it is very forgiving if I just treat it right. I also have to remember to not get obsessive and take it one day at a time.

This is a check-in thread for support and encouragement, as well as daily accountability for yourself. Each day, you check in to post an update and to encourage the others in the group. Each Friday we check in with our successes for the week (big, small and everything in between!).
