IAMLOVEDBYYOU.. As a low carber this is normal, and by eating some protein as Becky said, you can get rid of cravings. The other major issue is usually the salad dressing. A vinegarette, or simple olive oil/vinegar dressing will help to ensure that you don't get sugar cravings from a salad. If you just have to have a " normal " dressing, check the sugar content. This way salad can be the healthy food we all think it is. It is a great mix of fat, protein, and carbs, which is what we should try to get with all dishes. Chicken strips can be a substitute for eggs if you want.
HAPPYLISA... If you have a sugar addiction, more sugar is not going to help you. Grapes are loaded with sugar. So are bananas. As a diabetic I can't have these at all without a serious spike in blood sugar. While not exact in all foods, look at the glycemic index, and aim for low er glycemic foods. So if you need fruit, have berries, plums, or an apple instead of grapes. Eat along with something with fat and protein, like nuts, or cheese.

Thank you, Becky. That's good to know. I worked out this morning (water aerobics for 60 mins) and only had 11 grams of protein at lunch. No wonder I was having sugar fits! I will keep your advice!
Awesome!!! Cravings can be so hard to beat! I know sometimes when I don't get what I'm craving I could eat everything else under the sun I will still have the craving lol!!! Glad you found fmsomething that works :-)
I ate my lunch today (spinach salad), and afterwards had the WORST sugar cravings. I was dreaming about chocolate and cookies and on and on. I wasn't hungry, but I wasn't FULL. I remember I had read on here that a poster eats hard boiled eggs when he has sugar cravings. I had a hardboiled egg that I planned to eat for my 3:00 snack (with a banana). I decided to eat it right then.
And guess what? IT WORKED! I was shocked. After eating it, if someone had offered me a cookie, I would have said no. Before eating it, I would have taken 3 cookies. I have NEVER experienced relief from a sugar craving like this before.
I know it's only one time, but anyone who is struggling with sugar cravings should try this at least once.
