My husband is rooting for Germany, but he came from there. I'm also from Germany, but didn't live there very long, so rooting for the US.

I don't have enough knowledge of the teams to say who I am rooting for. I love watching the games and I am rooting for the US!! Hopefully they will win on Thursday and go on. If they are out of it, I am not sure who I am rooting for!!

Rooting for the USA (and did a lot of yelling at the TV last night -- thought they played great though so very happy with last night other than the last-minute Portugal goal), and for other CONCACAF teams more generally in other matches.

I think the US is developing into a world class team, though realistically taking it all is a long shot this year, esp. without Altidore. But I am certainly not counting them out yet -- I think they will still make it out of the group stage, which would be no small feat in itself, and I'm excited to see what they can do from there.

Starting Weight: 260 lbs. (November 2010)
Quasi-Maintenance: 165 lbs. (June 2011)
Goal Weight: 150 lbs. (reached December 8, 2011)

Size 22W to Size 4

Currently maintaining within 5 lbs. (+ or -) of goal. I weigh daily, but also use a tape measure and the fit of my clothes to guage how well I'm doing.

I was watching the game. The US did GREAT !! Portugal is playing with a lot of injured players, but they are still a very talented team in spite of it. I knew it would be a tough game

When the US took the lead I was thrilled. Mind you, Portugal couldn't lose. they had to draw to still stay in contention. A win would have been nice, but a draw works in the US favor too. What really works is that they scored two goals. that helps with the points. I'm sure all of Portugal breathed a sigh when that second goal was scored. I'll bet they didn't expect the US to be as good as they were.

The US plays Germany next. They have to either win or get a draw if they want to make into the speed round.

We were disappointed that Germany did not win over Ghana, guess Ghana is really extra good, better than the other African teams. Germany played so slow, and acted like they were in no hurry during the last part of the game, they do that often. Oh well, let the chips fall where they may.................

wow... Spain is OUT. they lost to Chile.

Italy is playing Costa Rica. If Costa Rica draws or wins, England is out. So, they need Italy to win if they want to chance to advance.

UPDATE, Italy lost to Costa Rica. England is out too.

gee, the US team's chances to advance keep improving while the power houses get knocked off.

I referee soccer and watch it all the time so this is an exciting time for me. Plus it is nice to finally be able to speak about soccer with my neighbors that usually only follow football, baseball and basketball. I had wanted England but I think they are done barring some type of miracle.

Holland is looking really strong. Definitely not afraid to attack. That was an exciting game.

Spain vs. Chile is on now, it would be crazy if Spain didn't make it to the round of 16!

Pepe was being classic Pepe. It's his MO really. (Not saying it's acceptable, but that I expected him to pull a stupid stunt. I'm ok with it since it means he'll be on the bench for Portugal's game against the US and he's a fantastic center defender when he's not being a gigantic jack***). I'm curious to see if Brazil can get out of their funk against Mexico today.

No lie, when Jozy Altidore went down yesterday, my heart stopped for a bit. Here's hoping he's going to be good for Portugal!!

I've watched every game so far and I'm cheering for each and every team. May the best team win!

I think Pepe's coach should put him on a plane home. Poor sportsmanship, you can't count on a player like that.

Well with Portugal looking as sloppy as it did this afternoon, if the US wins against Ghana, a draw against Portugal could mean the US escaping the group. (This is where the fact that I was living in London during the last World Cup comes though...fantastical optimism in the face of low expectations *le sigh*). *If* the US can get out of the group, I'll change my tune for sure but that's still a low probability event IMO.

The US has done well its past two trips to the World Cup. The problem is that the team still has a really long way to go before it can compete against the likes of Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Italy, the Netherlands, etc.

Yes, I'm rooting for the US, but I'm also expecting them to be booted fairly early. In which case, I'll be rooting for an Italy - Brazil match up for the final.

No, offense to the Orange Crush.

(aka that time when the US cares about what the rest of the sporting world cares about ALL the time :D)

Who are you rooting for (especially once we get into the knockout round)?

Me, I'm rooting for USA but with the low probability of them making it out of the group stage (thanks FIFA emoticon ), I think I'm rooting for an Argentina-Netherlands final with Le Oraje taking it all.
