So.... basically the recommendation is 8 cups of water a day. 8 cups x 8 ounces in a cup = 64 ounces a day.

The water tracker (the glass of water you click on the food tracking page) measures by the cup - click it eight times, and you'll fill your glass. Most people don't bother tracking water consumption beyond that.
If you're entering water into the food tracker itself, you have the option to track it by cups (the default) or ounces. For that matter, you can also choose to track by mL, grams or ice cubes :-). If you just want a rough estimate, which is usually good enough for water, cups should be fine. If you want to get a little more accurate and you're measuring out something other than a cup at a time, go with ounces.
One cup is 8 ozs so you would need 64 ounces to meet your goal

I've been tracking my water in ounces, but see people mentioning 'cups' of water. I've looked all over (including the 'help' section) but can't find any info. (I AM famous for overlooking the obvious,however!! LOL) THANKS!!
