It would take a lot of time and effort to look at random posts in some of the threads on most of the Boards to know if similar or even the same topics are being discussed. Yes, the Search option could be used more. However, people will reply to the topics that most interest them, even if they require only one word answers and even if there are similar parallel threads.

I think sometimes, if posters have the time, they could look at threads that are no longer on the first page and continue/renew them instead of making new threads. On the other hand, even if a new thread is made that is similar to, or the same as, another one, if people like it, they will keep it going for awhile.

If posters lack time or inclination, they might make new threads that are the same or essentially the same as other threads. That has pretty much been the same in all the on-line groups I have been in since the old MSN Group days when I joined some back in 1997 or whenever.

I was always told low fat because you need the fat......never fat free. I just wanted to know what anybody else thought. Thanks!

I look at the back label to see which one has more calories, or salt. non-fat has no calories, but the salt is 250. Then I go with low fat that has 150 in salt, but 20 calories. You need fat to pull fat out. But usually it's the good fats at every meal: flax/ground, olive oil, salmon, or almonds(one 1-2 tablespoons a day).

Some boards don't have enough people working in them to eliminate the thousand posts for one question. I've asked about this before. They have cut back on some of the titles waiting for posters. But, as far as saying the same thing, I've been on 2 low carb boards for over 10 yrs., and we have daily menu and exercise threads, answered by a bunch of us for years, it helps some people to post their exercise and daily menus. We keep a "roll call" thread every day, too, just for idle chit chat, have been together for a long time, diet or not. All of us are seniors, mostly women.

I always try to respond to the ones with low numbers. I get tired of the ones that keep popping up and they are in the 10s of 1,000s.

I find the same problem. I think after 2 weeks, post should be removed or moved to back pages.
I aso find it congested with post from many different people with the same topics. Like what did you have for Breakfast, or What is for Dinner.

I've been guilty of replying to the daily posts that require an emoticon or one word or two.
I did not realize that one could get points for posting though..I thought you could only get points from the bonus wheel.
Sometimes I don't have a lot of time to spend on the computer and like to use those type posts to keep check of myself. It's support to me even though it's short and simple.

I really like this's free, informative and supportive. Can't beat that!! emoticon

when someone responds to an old, or any, post that post goes to the top. that's why new ones are disbursed through out the forum. I always scan a couple pages looking for new ones too. It's amazing how many sparkers there are that don't ever post.

I know that sometimes to find an interesting thread I may go into the boards a couple months back and revive it for a change of pace.

they don't change the time -- people who responds change the time

When you reply to a message it moves to the top of the board. Many people just want the points and like to reply to an emoticon type of message. They are very popular for that reason.

I was thinking the same.

There are just a lot of quick topics responded to over and over and the posts are similar, I think.

Or do the message boards just keep repeating topics and changing the time they were posted? I keep checking to see if there are new posts and sometimes there are but in between are posts I read earlier on the day saying they were just posted. Sorry if I confused you!!
