Eating frequently, more than just three squares a day, does tend to produce better results in most studies.

However, there will always be people for whom this doesn't work for them. There will always be some who get "better" results by eating only their three meals, or even only 1 or 2 meals.

We're all different, and you gotta do what works for you!

As Becky points out, eating actually every 2 hours would have you (with an 8 hour sleep) eating 8 times a day. That's way more than even recommended.

Get your three meals. Include 2-3 snacks. I like to have snacks between each meals, and also sometimes one late at night, so that's 3 snacks.

No, eating every 2 hours has nothing to do with weight loss.
Having planned, healthy snacks---that are placed to ward off hunger and excessive, binge eating can help to keep calories in control.

Eating every 2 hours could result in 8-9 eating times a day....this is way too many.
Research suggest 3-5 eating times daily.

For me it wouldn't be. Eating every 2 hours means I would only be able to eat about 150 calories at a time, so a) I would never feel satisfied, and b) I would have to spend SO MUCH TIME prepping food and eating.

Eating the appropriate amount of calories and nutrients, and adding some movement will be what helps with weight loss. There's not really a "secret trick".
