Yes, you can have diet drinks. Yes you can have caffeine. But both should be used in moderation as part of your healthy diet.
If you are wanting recommendations for intake regarding overall health:
have no more than 32 ounces of artificially sweetenend beverages daily (this is considered a moderate amount)
have no more than 400 milligrams of caffeine daily

Could you try coffee instead? I used to drink a LOT of diet soda. I recently switched to coffee, and though I add sweet cream to it, it's worth the calories in my opinion. I think it's more of a pick me up, and it does keep me full (maybe because it's warm).
IDK though. I don't really buy into the "artificial sweeteners are the devil." I switched because I prefer coffee in the morning to soda, but I still drink it in the afternoon/evenings if I feel like it.
If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?

I've recently locked myself into the mindset that anything with artificial sweetener is BAD news. After cutting out Crystal light from my diet I noticed a serious change in my energy level as well as the bloat in my stomach. I'm a fruit or cucumber slice in my water type person now. I still crave flavor to keep my taste buds happy.

This debate will sway either direction. I hate lemon juice in my water but LOVE Crystal Lights lemonade packets. I also have a few others that they don't taste great alone but if I mix half and half of two flavors it has really awesome flavor. When I am struggling to get my water intake I use it as a way to get it in. It does have calories unlike diet soda but for my DH if I can have him drink crystal light instead of a full calorie mountain dew I think it's better for him in the long run.

I like plain soda water. Or I drink unsweetened coconut milk. You can add some lemon or something to the soda water too.

I tell myself that I am getting my water servings if I mix Crystal Light in my water bottle, but lately I have found myself drinking the Crystal Light with "Energy" which actually has more caffeine in it than than 2 Diet Cokes!!! I just want to know if anyone has gotten addicted to this kind of Crystal Light thinking that it was better than soda, only to realize it is probably way worse? How do I stop drinking this stuff?? Plain water is so boring which is why I started drinking Crystal Light...
