Yes, it is generally recommended to rest your muscles 48-72 between ST sessions - this implies 2-3 workouts per week.

I agree with Coach Nancy - the most important aspect of strength training is that you are genuinely challenging your muscles, and fatiguing them in 12 reps or less.

Absolutely. The goal is to overload your muscles, so make sure you are lifting a weight that is heavy enough to fatigue the muscles you are training.
