The best way to estimate without using a heart rate montior would be to add the walking and running as two seperate entries. Then you won't be overestimating by calling it all running, or underestimating by calling it all walking.
Would it be possible to figure out how many calories you expend doing interval running--such as couch 2 5k programs? I know for myself I work *much* harder than I do when I walk, which is what the current couch 2 5k programs tracks, and I'm worried about accuracy since I'm petite and don't want to burn too many calories.
