Jen is right!

It does need to come back to your why. When you go to workout, until you get to the point where you work out because you like it, you need to remember that you are working out for your goal: a certain weight, a certain look. Be prepared to not see that instantly, but know that your efforts will get you there eventually.

The same with what you eat.

On an aside, and by way of encouragement, good for you taking this on while you are young! It makes me feel like an old timer, but I remember being your age and heavier than you and not knowing where to start. You have connected here to a great resource on how to be healthy for the rest of your life! Keep at it and don't give up!

I'm where you are. Although I don't know if it is the "initial" still, but I'm having a harder time making myself do the things I know I should. Not the eating right, that I have now read FAR too much to ignore eating healthy foods. But sometimes I just don't want to workout. I can't stop right now though, because I've stopped before, and it just throws me off. So I just changed things up. I will probably change things up a little more. It is just as challenging, just different.

And I can feel it coming back, because I pushed through it. You have to just remember WHY you want to do this. TO be fit, healthy, and likely, thin.

Initial Excitement, I was there too because I want change for myself and got a burst of energy. Now, it's starting to feel as if I have too, like a job, but finding myself taking it slow losing the weight. I have treated myself... Got my eyebrows waxed. If some pounds come off this week.... Going to buy myself some nightcream for my face. Treat yourself and see if it helps.

You just have to tell yourself you're in it for the long haul. I'm all about momentum; I know how hard it is to start again after a slip-up, and I hate that feeling. That motivates me the most.

Often the reason we lose motivation so soon in the piece is because we change lots of things all at once, and/or eat a lot under the recommended calories. not getting enough nutrition can cause a person to lose the original shine.

I peeked at your Nutrition Tracker, and there are quite a few days with only 800 -1000 cal's, and not a lot of fruit/veges.

This is about a healthy balance - not about deprivation, starvation or over-exercise. It is about eating enough (1200 calories MINIMUM for a sedentary woman of average weight - more for heavier people and those who are active); eating plenty of fruit/veges incorporating a rainbow of colour; getting a healthy mix between carbs/fats/protein; and eating ALL your meals. It is best to start with one or two changes (Baby Steps) and only when our body/mind has gotten used to the change, add something else to the mix. That way you are far more likely to stay the course and not get lost on the way.

Hello TaylorLuv,

Aim for consistency, excitement for exercise is not always there for me either, I just go do it anyway. There has never been a day that I regretted the workout after it was done. Adding music often helps get me into the mood. Varying the workout can boost enthusiasm. emoticon Joining a challenge or making one for yourself (start a streak) emoticon emoticon emoticon also helps.

The longer term benefits are worth the effort. Go for it. I wish you success.
