I agree with setting a date several months in the future so you have time to lose weight in a way that's healthy for your body, so you can keep it off long term. That being said, I'm getting married in a month and will be getting married in a size 22 wedding dress. It's not what I wanted, and it's not my ideal size for sure, but I didn't have my "coming to Jesus" moment about my weight until a few days ago. ::shrug:: and calling off a wedding for something like my weight just seems a little superficial. It's not about how you look that day; it's about the love between you and your fiance and promising to build a future together, for better or for worse.
Maybe setting a date will give you more motivation? Having a deadline certainly got my butt in gear!
Have you talked to him about your concerns with your weight? I find I always underestimate how much my fiance understands things like wanting to lose weight. He may even want to join you at the gym!

They make wedding dresses in all sizes these days! Plus if you go to a store that has decent employees, they can help find a dress that flatters your body shape.
When's the wedding? I've only got a month left until mine, so I've been doing as much cardio and strength training as I can squeeze into my days!
Summer produce is overflowing--and cheap! Whether you grow it or buy it, it's easy to preserve your food so that you can save money and eat better long after the harvest is over.
