It's not too hard to eat 1500 calories in a day, I sure have no problem with it! You could even do 5 small meals of around 300 calories each. You need more protein, too. A great source for protein is peanut butter or other nut butters. Two tablespoons of PB on a piece of whole wheat bread can be from 280-350 calories, depending on the type.
You could also have smoothies made with greek yogurt and fruit- protein, fiber and carbs. Add some Chia seeds for more nutrition and a few more calories.
And like ALLICIAC said - add some meat or something more filling to that potato. Add a piece of fresh fruit to add 70-120 calories. I love pears and bananas.
You truly will do better to maintain the calorie range. Going under so often will lead to out-of-control cravings. And let's face it- none of us would be on here if our problem had been eating too little for a long time.

You have to be eating much more than you are. If your minimum is 1500, then that is the least amount of calories you should be eating in a day. A baked potato for lunch is not enough. Why not have some chili or chicken breast with it? What about adding some fruit with your breakfast? You could also include a yogurt as well.

AM THANKFUL FOR YOUR INPUT AND MOST DAYS HAVE BEEN UNDER MY CALORIES ONLY A FEW ACTUALLY OVER LIKE 4 DAYS IN 5 WKS. BUT SEEMS LIKE MOST DAYS LATELY UNDER 1000 AND MY MINIMUM IS 1500.SO I GOTTA GET BETTER AT THIS FOOD STUFF. LIKE THIS MORNING I HAD A CUP OF RICE CHEX,1C.OF 2% WITH MY CEREAL AND COFFEE ALONG WITH TSP. OF SPLENDA IN CEREAL AND COFFEE.DID NOT GET CLOSE TO 453 HIGH MARK FOR BRKFST. UGH!!! MY PLAN FOR LUNCH IS A BAKED POT.W/ 1TBSP. MARGERINE AGAIN NOT WITHIN RANGE..MAYBE I WILL ADD A SALAD WITH 2TBSP. OF DRESSING!!!

You are doing an awesome job. It may seem like so much work for a small number each week on the scale, but you are averaging a very healthy weight loss each week. Whenever you feel like it's taking too long, remind yourself that losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes time to do it in a healthy way. Keep up the good work!

Spark people won't let you lose more than 2lbs a week, any faster and it becomes too easy to put back on. 9lbs in 5 weeks is amazing work and you shouldn't turn your nose up at it!
slow is the best way and then it is easier to maintain

That's almost 2 lbs a week and that is good. Are you staying within your calorie range? You want to make sure you dont go below your calorie range either, this could slow down your weightloss progress. If you do not think you are losing fast enough you can try adding protein to your diet and make sure you drink LOTS of water. Do not be down on yourself 1.5 - 2 lbs per week is good!

OK, so I,m on week 5 and have only lost 9 lbs.,but 14"" seems way to slow!!! I am going to the gym 2-3 times a week getting lots of fitness points!! How can I rev up the weight loss.. Allie
