First off - the answer to the question "Is the New Weight Loss Seasoning - Sensa - Good" - the answer is yes, it is good and it does work for those who want to put in the time and minimal effort required to make it work. Sensa is a tool to help you lose weight - it is not a miracle pill or a quick weight loss scheme. It helps give you a sense of fullness and helps curb cravings. But it does require some effort on your part (i.e., you must stop eating when you begin to feel full), but you are able to eat your own food (no special diets required) and there is nothing that is off limits to eat. Most of us that are on Sensa - have found in a very short time that most of our sweet cravings disappear and our portions get under control. So please, if you think it is something you'd like to try - give yourself permission to at least look at the product and make up your own mind. I don't see anyone who said NOT TO TRY IT say that they had personally tried it. They just found a bunch of crap on the internet and that is what they are citing as their "fact".
Now Aurora this is to you personally - WLB101092 didn't say she lost 30 pounds, she said she lost 45!!!! And how could you not even say "way to go" or "congratulations"? You made her sound like she was lying (".....even if that is true"). No one should have to "defend" the weight loss product or method of weight loss they choose. What works for WLB (AND ME as I am also on Sensa) may not be what works for you - but who are you to put WLB down just because Sensa does work for her? Every single person here at Spark People is having, or has had, their own personal weight loss struggle. If you didn't like weight watchers or Nutrisystem or Jenny Craig, would you put a person down for using that also? What about Alli? Or just diet and exercise? You are obviously one of those who believes everything you read and/or hear instead of trying a product and deciding for yourself.
WLB is a great person. She is an inspiration to me and to many others on our Sensa Forum. And she truly does not care what you or anyone else thinks of the method she chooses, but for me, your reply shows what we, as a people, have come to when we can't even encourage or lift up somone who is in the same shoes we are, or in the same shoes we have been in.
I am so absolutely disgusted and disappointed in the turn that this thread has taken!!!!

Well, I am not trying to impress you, but I lost 37 lbs in 6 months without a real "diet" and very little exercise... so it impresses me! And that is all that matters.
Not everyone can do diet and exercise without help. Some of us just need a little extra help and this is what worked for me. But I am not trying to sell it to you, if you can do it without Sensa, then that is great, but please don't think less of us that need a little help. Thanks!

Hi All! I just wanted to drop in and mention that I have been using Sensa for just over 7 months and I have lost 45 lbs. I love it and I sprinkle it on everything. It has helped me change my eating habits and reduce cravings! I am sold and will be sold for a while, since I still have 60 lbs to lose, but I wouldn't dream of doing it without Sensa. It has been so easy too. No restrictions, just the ones I have set for myself that Sensa is helping me keep everyday. Need any further proof it can work, check out my sparkpage and see my progress pics and reports. It isn't a magic pill that melts fat away, but it will help!!!

Wow! I didn't realize the ads weren't chosen by Spark. I'm really glad I went browsing for info on this product because until now, I've naively clicked away at advertisers out of trust that SparkPeople wouldn't let questionable diet or health ads onto the site.
I even signed up for a research study, just based on my belief in Spark, so I didn't do as much research into the group as I normally would. Luckily, that worked out okay. But I'll be certain to put the claims of advertisers though my more stringent reality testing filters from now on.
THANKS FOR THE INFO, I THOUGHT AS MUCH, WAS NOT COMFORTABLE MAKING THE PAYMENT, THAT IS WHY I HAD TO ASK. ANOTHER QUESTION THOUGH, IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORATBLE WITH IT(DO NOT RECOMMEND), WHY DO YOU ADVERTISE IT ON YOUR WEBSITE? I ALMOST PAID FOR IT BECAUSE I THOUGHT, IF IT COULD BE ADVERTISED ON SPARKPEOPLE, THEN IT IS SAFE? I THINK YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THIS. GOD BLESS.
I assume you are talking about the Sensa Seasoning developed by Dr. Alan Hirsch from the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Center. There has only been one study, and my understanding is that it has NOT been peer reviewed or published in a medical journal. Dr. Hirsch reports on average a 30# weight loss in 6 months for individuals in the study. However, NO follow up has been done to see if the participants have kept off the weight. The product is Not FDA approved. The long term effects are not known. A monthly supply cost $59.
While a tasty dish does provide greater satiety, there are many things I question about this product. Until I see more research and evidence, I say "save your money", instead eat a healthy diet and exercise....this we know are effective for weight loss and maintenance.
I would like to try the new Sensa advertised in the newsletters. What are the side effects and does Spark People recommend its use? I live in Nigeria but I can have my brother get it for me if you say I can try it. Thanks.
