I HATE housework, but I definitely enjoy having a clean house so I do it. I'm the only one in my house who does, and with a wheelchair in and out and several animals it keeps me busy. If only there was an easier and faster way to do things. Oh well.
I hate housework, but it does burn calories, so I do it.

Nope. You're not strange at all. I hate doing housework. There is nothing worse than still having to do chores after a long day at work! I hate washing dishes, and let us not even mention ironing. :/ But I have noticed that if I am more organised, neat etc, I make better health choices. Now how weird is that?

Nope. You're not alone. I can't stand housework. I wish could afford my own Alice or maybe a Mr French. I'm just not haus frau material.
I'm one of those people with a tidy brain, but messy house.

Since my retirement, I enjoy doing my chores, have never been more organized
The only chore I really hate is washing dishes and putting them away. I don't really have feelings about other chores other than feeling overwhelmed at times.

I don't necessarily hate to clean, except the bathroom and the stove! Other things I don't necessarily like to do, but I love the feeling of things being clean. I barely keep my house clean but with joint and back pain, it's difficult even to keep the dishes up and we use those every day... that and trying to do dishes and clean up after six people is overwhelming. I don't mind doing laundry, it's not to difficult. The folding part is a bit but it's more routine than an inconvenience now.
I think it's the repetitiveness of it all. Everyday you can redo things over and over. My hubby told me once to not drive a car because he'd just washed it......you can guess the rest of the story.

I feel that way too

You aren't alone! It's not that I don't want to do it, it's just that it's hard for me with a chronic illness, with the pain and the fatigue. I try to keep on top of it, but it's difficult at times.

My boyfriend is an obsessive neat freak. He does most of the housework because I don't do it "right" - I take care of the laundry, cooking, cleaning up the cat's room, and cleaning the kitchen. I don't mind these tasks at all, and in fact I rather enjoy them.

I don't like it but consider it exercise. and I am very fortunate as all I do is laundry and kitchen clean up as we live in Mexico and you are expected to have a maid for housework which I do...very spoiled.

I don't hate housework, it's just not a priority. These days I spend a lot of time on SP and it is paying off. I do look at housework as an opportunity to get those steps in during the day.

That just wakes up in the morning with Spark People on their mind.
Nope, you're not. I think my ex-husand expected me to be June Cleaver. I am not but I kept things clean enough. Of course, he rarely lifted a finger. I am fairly certain he didn't know where the big garbage cans were stored outside for our weekly pick up.
Housework is something I really don't enjoy. But laundry is the worst of all for me. I've never been fond of it, and it's the one thing that does seriously feel like a chore. But it has to be done, so I do it. I'm finding little ways to make it at least bearable. For example, I'll buy a book and it's my 'laundry' book that I can only read when I'm waiting for my clothes to be done washing/drying.

I do not mind doing housework, but I am lucky enough to have a smaller house with just two people that live in it so that makes it so much easier!

I am some what indifferent, if there is time I do it, but with 12.5 hour night shifts, barn chores for 2-4 hours twice a day, travel to work 1 hour each way, that narrows down to not enough time on those days I work if I am also going to sleep and eat, so it gets left until I am off again. There are a lot of things in the world more important then dusting or getting dishes done and 100 years from now it will make no difference. That doesn't mean I don't like a nice tidy house, but that I am resigned to the fact that it doesn't always happen in today's world.
7/20/14 8:29 A
I'm just the opposite. I wouldn't think of leaving the house with my bed unmade, I put away my clothes the minute I finish with them, I can sleep at night if I know there are dirty dishes in the sink and I do the laundry as soon as the hamper is full. I don't thing your way is weird though, lots of people are untidy.

I told my husband when we got married I am not a good housekeeper. I work 50+ hours a week with a long commute on top of that and a six year old and a three year old . I have better things to do then clean!

You are not the only one! I HATE housework/cleaning. I wish I could afford a regular housekeeper.
