Welcome! Getting started is always the hardest part. I think Spark gives you the tools to be successful; it's just a matter of making them work for you.
Definitely join a team challenge! There are a LOT of them, so you can always find something helpful to you. Like REBCCA said, the community boards are also a great place! Feel free to friend me and check in with me.
It's hard to get excited about your weight loss when other people are doing it faster -- but it's not a race! Not everybody is going to lose 100 pounds in a year. Focus on yourself and your own goals -- you WILL get there!

I need a check in partner...BAD.
I have lost total 48 lbs since 2008. On one hand, that rocks, but on the other, it is not all that great because my sister in law lost 100 in a YEAR. Of that 48, I have gained back between 6-8...since March. Not cool at all.
I know what works for me, but I am stumped on how to start again. At the beginning of the year, I did a Daniel Fast, then went to Paleo, then gluten free, then just went completely nuts. Paleo killed my grocery budget. Gluten free helped my mind, but I went back on gluten to be tested for autoimmune/celiac. Then the dr said they weren't going to test me. And I never went back off it.
Anyway....I just really need someone who is motivated and dependable to check in with. I will do the same for you. I usually work out at home (when I work out haha), but have access to the YMCA. I like to jog and lift weights. Last summer my goal was to enter a bikini contest. Didn't happen. One day it will!!
