do you know that the birth control pill was designed originally for u not to have your period at all , but women freaked out not having a period that's why they put in the sugar pills , you can just continuously take the pill and skip the sugar pills until you want your period, that's what we use to tell women at the OB GYN office where I use to work I was a medical assistant there.
If it makes you feel better call your doctor's office that's what they are there for to ask questions they'll have a nurse call you up

I agree with the last couple girls. Skip the "inactive" pills and don't have a period this month. Then your whole calendar will shift by one week for the future and you're still completely covered. But be aware, your next period will likely be heavier.

You could skip your period all together for that month. My doctor had once told me, you dont really "need" to get your period every month, so its fine to skip it if important things (like vacations!) pop up.

since your doctor is probably closed, call and ask your pharmacist. the exact med you're on can determine how you should be doing this, particularly if you are using the pill as contraception and especially if it's your only method.

-google first. ask questions later.

It's a long time since I have taken the pill, but when I was, it depended on what type of contraceptive pill you were using.

Enjoy your holiday :-)

As always, talk to your Dr. Having said that, you can shift your schedule by stopping the pill a few days early and restarting after your regular days off the pill.

I talked to my Dr and I stay on the pill for 3 to 4 months at a time, stopping only for 5 days when I start to breakthrough. You do not have to have a period every month. My daughter also does this. We are both happier as I no longer have hormonal migranes and she no longer has PMS that is so bad we want to lock her in a cave and post guards to keep her away from us.

Before you do anything, ask your doctor.

PS: I know this is kind of a weird question to ask here, but I have like no friends in real life who are on the pill. :)

I am on the pill and I realized as I was planning out my life that I am scheduled to have Aunt Flo come visit during the anniversary trip my husband and I are planning in May AND during our family vacation in June. I'd really like to avoid that. Aunt Flo is not welcome on vacations! LOL

So. I would really like to move her up a week. I figure I have two choices-- skip a whole week this month (which would mean starting my last row of pills tomorrow), or skip four days this month (start the last row on Wednesday) and then three days the following month.

Has anyone ever done this? I don't want to freak my body out too much, but I REALLY don't want to have my period whilst I am on a romantic getaway! Suggestions? Recommendations?
