I figured it out! I changed it to the amount I would like to exercise (which is more than the default the system had) and now I have a "comfortable stretch" amount of exercising to be done. This is better than chasing my tail. Thanks again, Nancy!

If you go to your Start Page (in the My Trackers drop down menu in the upper left hand corner of your page) and then scroll down to the My Goals and Progress which is located on the left hand side of your page and locate the Calories to Burn this Week section. There you can change your figure.
Thank you, Coach Nancy. I'm still learning the ropes and I need to figure out where the Calories Burned Goal is set. The thing is, I don't want to be overexercising so that I have to eat more to compensate. I don't see how that can help me with my weight loss goals. I feel like I'm chasing my tail! :))
If losing weight were sheer effort I could do it. But it's also time, and consistency. These are good concepts to get a grip on in all areas of my life. :)
I'd rather exercise moderately and eat moderately. I'll figure this out. Good luck at the Marine marathon!

If you are consistently going to expend more calories than what you have on your Start Page as your Calories Burned Goal states, then yes, you will want to manually change this figure to better match your figure. This may or may not change your calorie range as there are other factors that go into determining the range (current weight, goal weight and time frame to meet your goal--for example).
Remember food is fuel for your body. Your body needs calories for basic biological functions (regulating your heart rate, body temp and respirations, as well as fighting off illness, not to mention growing new cells, etc, etc). Your body also need fuel for the active daily living activities that we do such as shopping, cleaning, walking the dog, working in the yard, etc. And lastly your body needs calories to fuel your formal activity. So while you may be nervous of changing this figure, it is very important so that you do not cut back too much on your calories and slow your progress.
It's my first week here, and I'm highly motivated. I like getting new trophies and was "that" close to earning my 3rd trophy. I had it all figured out how to get 36 points in one day. I would do TWO hours of walking videos instead of just one (plus tracking food, drinking all my water). But then I got yelled at by the Fitness Tracker bot. Something about burning too many calories while not consuming enough ... don't want to go into starvation mode yadda yadda ...
I get that. But dang. I am eating 1450 (mid-range for the recommended allowance) and burning 300. Is that too much? I want to do this right.
