Thank you for your post of your motto, I really needed it this week.
"To best take care of your family, take care of yourself first!" ------ This became my motto when I wound up in the hospital because I was putting everyone else's needs before my own. I've since found that I actually meet their needs BETTER, when I take care of my own first. (I'm a diabetic and was not taking care of myself because I was too busy.)

I changed my user name when I found my motto. Basically, I don't need easy, I just need possible. Nothing good in life comes easily. If it is possible, it can be achieved.
You can't fail if you don't quit. Just get back on track and see how far you can go !

The one that really resonates with me right now is, "If you're tired of starting over, then stop giving up." I'm going to stick with my healthy lifestyle this time, look at the times when I eat less than optimally as just part of life, but get right back with my plan.
I'm also a big fan of "To see your past, look at your present condition. To see your future, look at your present actions."

Great topic! My motto lately has been, "Keep going. One more. You can do this." Another that helped me a lot was, "One day at a time, one meal at a time, one decision at a time." It's all about keeping going and keeping my momentum!
I have a lot of favorite sayings --- my mom's was "inch by inch, it's a cinch -- mine for today is "Be the best you can be at whatever you do" --

My motto is, "Everyday is a new day, one day at a time." Each day I wake up I don't fear the future; I don't regret the past. I focus on what's right in front of me. Yesterday's slip was yesterday. No guilt. And I refuse to fall into the pit of poor me! "Today is all I have and Today I'm going to live healthy."
That's my motto. I am 52.....the average human life span is 82.6. years. I figured I would push that statistic a bit and keep reminding myself that I need to be happy and healthy EVERYDAY because 40 years isn't a whole heck of a lot of time.
How old are you? Take your age and subtract it from 82.6...... that's how long YOU have to be happy and healthy too......and in the grand scheme of things it's not very long. So get to it and stick with it. It's the rest of your life we are talking here.....how do you want to spend it?

My Motto is "Pray, Eat, Move" which has been essential on my journey in maintaining my "balanced healthy lifestyle".
I've found that trying to do it all, and doing it all perfectly was exhausting and defeating. It'll never be perfect, and it doesn't need to be. It just needs to work for me. I love your motto, and one that will keep you from giving up. Ever forward!

I took mine from something Jillian Michaels had posted to Facebook a while back..."Think about how far you've gotten...Not about how far you still have to go." That has really helped me this year because I hit a slump back in December and basically stopped doing what I had been doing for an entire year. Fortunately, a good friend of mine was willing to help me and get me back on track and thinking about what Jillian posted is what is going to keep me going now!

I have always struggled to keep a healthy weight, thus my motto:" Weighing is the way!" I chose this because when I weigh myself regularly I am more motivated to keep a food diary and stick to a better intake of food. I can't rely on my clothes getting tight- by then its too late!
Since I'm a very slow loser mine is "It will take as long as it takes". Anyone have a good one for staying at goal weight once you hit it?

"Perfection is the enemy of the good". Voltaire said this in the 1600s and you said it today. What a great quote and congratulations to you for discovering the same concept as this great man of history. It is so important to people like us to let go of our perfectionism and move forward.

Here it is: "Every time you misstep on your healthy journey, you have two choices: to keep walking backwards, which will surely take you even further away from your goals; or to accept your lack of perfection as normal and forgivable, and take not one, but two positive steps down the path that brings you closer to the future you want."
I am learning to let go of perfectionism and this phrase really spoke to me. It showed up in an article at a very timely point in my journey.
