WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Welcome to Spark People!! I am so glad you are here! This is a great place to begin your weight loss journey. There are so many amazing resources to benefit from. From the fitness and nutrition trackers, to the teams and groups where you can get endless amounts of support, motivation, and advice to the articles which will make you fitness and health smart! Hi! I am trying to lose 30 pounds gained after my babies, born less than a year apart. I eat healthy home cooked meals, work out 5 times a week and could not lose an ounce. Was I tracking my calories? NO. I thought that working out and not stuffing my face with chips and fast food should be enough for weight loss... Did not work. I am excited that I found Spark People, the support and advice here are amazing! I started tracking my food last week and already lost 2 pounds. It was astonishing to see how many calories I was consuming before... Or grabbing bites from the kids plates. Or tasting stuff while cooking... Or eating when stressed. Not getting enough sleep. All that was probably enough to not allow my weight to move down. Even with 2 times a week hi intensity step aerobics classes, 2 times strength/cardio class, 1 time elliptical (intense!). I get my motivation from all you guys, thanks!!!!!!
