I really hope you all con quit smoking. It's really worth the effort. My sister just quit so that she could attempt to get pregnant. I couldn't be more proud!!!

I'm going to second Lexi's advice! Quitnet.com is a great site to check out, the support there is phenomenal. I've never really checked out the other resources she mentioned, but I've heard them highly recommended, especially Alan Carr's book.

It's not easy, but quitting smoking is simple. Once you make the decision you're done smoking, mean it. Stick to your guns, and know that you can get through whatever comes your way smoke free! The only way out is through, and it does get easier over time. Each crave you get through successfully leaves you stronger and better equipped to take on the next.
I quit in Dec. 2010, truly one of the best decisions I've made!

Oh Geez! my girlfriend and I were just talking about this today. I have never smoked and never tried smoking, not even as a teen. Both my parents smoked and I remember when my mom was 53 she quit, my dad shortly after. I can not even pretend to know how hard it is. I would guess it is the same addiction as I have to food. I hope it is a bit easier going for you! Good luck!

Hiya,

Congrats on your decision to quit smoking! I just celebrated being 2 years quit and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. If you haven't already, you should read Allan Carr's The Easy Way. It really helps put you in the correct mindset. Plus whyquit.com and quitnet.com are excellent resources. Personally it helped me a lot to know my enemy inside out (nicotine) and learn good strategies on how to quit and stay quit. Also trade your bad habit for a good habit...for me I took up running. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Hi Everyone,
I need help and support. I will be quitting smoking next week when I go to Florida for 3 weeks with all Non-smokers. I do feel confident that I can do this as I do not smoke many. However, I think I need some tools to help me on my journey. If anyone out there has any help or support I would very much appreciate your help.
Trying to climb that mountain!
