Weight loss takes time and as the previous poster mentioned, working out is just part of the equation. Tracking your nutrition is a big part of our success when it comes to weight loss.

I say do what you feel you can do and not what you have to do. When we try to alter our lives too much in the beginning, this journey can become quite overwhelming so the minute you can no longer meet your goals, it becomes too easy to throw in the towel.

"lose weight fast" is ambigious. How much do you want to lose? How is your diet like? Honestly, MOST of your weight loss is going to come from proper diet. You can workout all you want, but if you eat like crap, you won't lose weight.

First, make sure you are medically cleared for exercise. Look up the PAR-Q to find out if you need to be cleared.

Second, a good place to START is cardio 3x a week for 30 mins at least and (total body) strength training 2x a week for 30 mins. Bump it up- either in intensity, duration, or amt of workouts a week, when it starts getting to be less of a workout.

Hi Team,

i am doing cardio mostly like Zumba or elliptical or kickboxing....i have took 3 classes of body works plus abs. In my gym they have 2 times a week of body work classes. My question is how much strength training and cardio i need to do to lose weight fast ? how to divide them.
