Thank you - I did stay on and I also have talked with others to get through it - that first night was the worst - cat has still not returned home and it has been a week now so I don't think she will return. I fear she may be dead.

Do you have anyone IRL who you can talk through this with? If not, maybe just try staying on SP and chatting on here to distract yourself.

Oh...so sorry to hear! I hope the little one will be home soon. I had two cats at another point in my life...and they were inside & outside little guys who did the disappearing trick a few times on me! One when he was a kitten :( so I can understand your feelings.

Good for you to hang in there and reassure yourself that you can get through this without "Major Eating Damage"!! You can indeed do it! ....(and if you didn't make it through the night without going off track---hey forgive yourself---and jump on the train again!! )

My cat has disappeared and now I can't sleep and I am worrying and all I keep thinking about is FOOD - I KNOW THAT WILL NOT HELP - BUT the thoughts are there and it is a good thing I don't have a lot of junk food handy. I weathered Helen's (my stepmother) hospital stay without resorting to crazy eating behaviors. I WILL weather this storm too, but right now, in the middle of the night, I am almost shaking with wanting to pigout.
